Hi I'm Kylie

I live in Utah. I love sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have just completed 2 years of school at Utah Valley University. I am a math education major and I just earned my associate's degree. I have a great family in which I am the only girl and I love it! I grew up a tomboy and I am still one today. I love sports and the outdoors. I have recently decided to take a break from school and serve a 18 month mission for the Church. I have been called to serve in the Canada Edmonton Mission. I love life and am excited to add this new experience to mine.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church since I was 8 years old. I was born and raised in the gospel. Throughout my life there have been many experiences where I have no doubt whatsoever that the church is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I have had so many prayers that have been answered and my testimony is continually strengthened everyday. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that it is only through Him that we can be saved. I know that He atoned for our sins, pains, and afflictions. He loves each of us so very much and I am so grateful for that knowledge. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet upon the earth in these latter-days. What he teaches comes straight from our Father in Heaven and if we follow those teachings we will be greatly blessed in this life and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

Like most, I attend church weekly and partake of the sacrament. I also do daily scripture studying and personal improvement. I have been attending the institute at UVU for the past 2 years. While there I have taken classes like, The Book of Mormon, Women in the Scriptures, and Mission Preparation. As I am getting ready to leave on my mission I am continuing to go to Mission Preparation classes once a week.

Are Mormons Christians?

Kylie
Mormons are Christian in every sense of the word. The official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is the keystone to all of our beliefs and we strive to follow His teachings and example. The foundation of our religion is Jesus Christ. Yes, Mormons are Christian. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Kylie
Being a Mormon is wonderful. It has been such an amazing blessing in my life. It has helped me to set standards for myself so that I don't fall into the many temptations that are out there in the world. Being a Mormon has helped me to see who I am as a Daughter of God and how my role here on earth is essential. It helps me to keep my priorities straight and live a happy life. I am so grateful to be a Mormon and for the things that I have learned through living my faith! Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Kylie
Yes! The Savior appeared to the people of the Americas after He died and rose again. He taught the people and blessed. I love these accounts in the Book of Mormon because it strengthens my testimony that the Savior and Heavenly Father love all people and want each of us to have the opportunity to draw closer unto Him. In the Book of Mormon starting in 3 Nephi chapter 11, it describes these events and the things that Jesus taught these people that He loved so dearly. I know that this is true because I have prayed about it and felt a confirmation through the Holy Ghost that this really did happen and that Heavenly Father is aware of each and every one of us. In whom should we have faith?

Kylie
We should have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we are able to return to live with our Heavenly Father. Throughout out our lives we make mistakes which would keep us from being able to live in Heavenly Father's presence again. However, we have Jesus Christ. This is so exciting because He came to earth to suffer the penalty for those mistakes. If we have faith in Christ and repent of the things that we have down we can be forgiven and will eventually be able to return to live with God again. Show more Show less
