Hi I'm Mike Demke

I live in Arizona with my wonderful family. I love to disc golf, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 4 who has had a wonderful life raising my kids. I have a wonderful supportive wife who works so hard to keep the family working together in one purpose. Because of the economy and financial struggles I just went back to school at age 48 to finish my masters degree. My kids joke how I was the first of my family to ever graduate from college and now I'm the oldest still in college. I reply back, and at age 55 I will be the first to be called Dr. as well. I believe in continued learning throughout our entire life. You never stop learning and school for me has become so interesting at this age of my life, because I am really trying to learn and not just get a degree. Being a Dad, Student, and Husband really completes my life and I wouldn't know what to do without that support.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church and throughout my life I was taught to believed. However when I went on a mission I really needed to find out for myself. I prayed hard to know and gained a testimony of the things I was teaching. I got married in the temple to a new convert of the Church, and her entire family was not able to go to the wedding. That still bothers me even today. However it wasn't until I made some bad mistakes in my life and all the blessing the Church were taken away from me, that I truly understood blessings of the gospel. Through the repentance process I relized how we should live our lives each day. Scripture study and prayer became more meaningful. Not being able to serve in the Church became a huge void. I suffered during this time of rebuilding my life and really began to soul search on how I was going to live moving forward. I would not recommend anyone take the path I took to get where I am today, however I can say because of the journey I have been on, my testimony of the truthfulness of this Church is stronger now having gone through what I did in rebuilding my life. Find out how you can come from the depths of despair into world of happiness. The blessing of this gospel are for everyone to share and enjoyl.

How I live my faith

Today I live every day as a gift from God. I enjoy every moment with my wife and children possible as if it were our last. I have a relationship with my wife stronger than ever before as we continue to work together. I still struggle financially however I am happy. I have found joy in serving others and helping wherever I can throughout the day. My daily mantra is Read, Pray, and Serves, and I believe that if I do that every day, "Life is Good."
