Hi I'm Erin

I'm a bookworm, I'm a goof, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to paint, read, act, and hang out with my friends! I am enrolled at BYU-I and I am a Freshman there! I was a nanny, and I played the violin. I love serving others and bringing smiles to their faces! I love to joke and make people laugh. I foil fence for fun, and I love riding my bike!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. I was born into the church, was baptized at age 8, and attended regularly as a child, but the day I really became a Mormon was the day I prayed sincerely with my God at age 14. I was going through some difficult times, and I became severely depressed. I questioned the church and my affiliation with it. My parents were supportive of me in whatever I decided. I decided to give myself one last chance to find out if I really believed in the Mormon faith. I prayed to my Heavenly Father, and the minute I opened my doubting, hesitant mouth to Him, I was enveloped in such a warm feeling that I know was the manifestation of God's love to me. My life now is so much better, and I accepted the church for myself, and I changed my heart to follow in Christ's footsteps. That is why I am a Mormon, because God loves me deeply, and because this church is where I am supposed to be. I know that it is the truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by courageously proclaiming its truth! I strengthen my faith by reading the scriptures and the words of modern-day prophets, by praying to my loving Heavenly Father, and by attending church services and meetings as often as I can! I am also living my faith because I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Florida. I live my faith by doing what Christ would have me do, by striving my best to be an example, and by not keeping it a secret!!! I live my faith by loving others as unconditionally as I can!

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely not! Did Christ only help certain groups of people? No. He helped and loved everyone. He helped the poor and the rich, the children and the aged, the men and the women, the kind and the cruel, and those who sought to harm him. He does not limit His love and help, and neither do we, because our desire is to become more Christlike. The church has helped many people throughout the world. When Hurricane Katrina hit, we were there to help clean up, to help feed, to help comfort, and to help people get back up on their feet. That is only one of the many instances where the church has reached out to help. The people of this church reach out every day to those in need, because we are trying to do as Christ asks of us and serve our fellow men. Show more Show less
