Hi I'm David

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I grew up in Utah. I love camping, wood working and toying with computers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a nerd before it was cool to be a nerd - I love working on computers. I'm around computers all day, so when I need a break, you can find me doing wood working. My family says that I mostly make saw dust. For many years I was involved with Boy Scouts of America and I've ALWAYS loved camping. I'm not much of an athlete, but my kids have all been active in sports and I love being part of that too.

Why I am a Mormon

I know who I am - a literal child of God. I know that despite all my imperfections, He loves me and wants me to return to Him. I love God's gospel - it's made such a huge difference in my life. It puts so many things in perspective. I know that my existence is eternal and that our struggles here, which may seem insurmountable in the moment, are fleeting, and what's important are things that will last forever like my relationship to my family and bonds that I build with other loved ones around me.

How I live my faith

I feel that the best way to show gratitude for all He has done for us is to serve others. I serve as ward mission leader which means that I get to work almost every day with the full time missionaries. In our ward, we feel that teaching is important, but we are focused like a laser on providing service to others and that's where we spend most of our efforts.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

David
It is a common misconception that the church hates homosexuality but this is simply not true. The church teaches that we are all God's children, that he loves each of us, and that we all should treat each other with love, respect and dignity. This is true regardless of sexual orientation. That being said, families are the MOST important relationship that we can have. God created the family structure and our role in it. Each of us, men and women, have a vital role to play in that structure. Families are ordained of God. Show more Show less
