Hi I'm Natalie

I'm majoring in Dance! I'm super competitive. I went to Nationals in Speech and Debate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently married the love of my life in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. I am going to college, where I am majoring in dance and loving every minute of it! My favorite forms of dance are ballroom and ballet, but I also have a very special place in my heart for clog and am learning to love modern. I play four instruments: viola, piano, violin, and organ. I love to act and sing and do anything that has competitions associated with it. My husband and I like to I play games and read books together as well as play a little tennis. The tennis thing is a work in progress. :) I did speech and debate in high school where I qualified for Nationals in two different events. I have gone back and helped my school team as an assistant coach and worked as a communications tutor in college. I love life. I love school. I love my family. I love my husband. I love Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family and for that I am very grateful. I grew up being taught the ways that I should live my life such as honesty, chastity, love for others and to have faith in Jesus Christ our Savior. The family is the central focus of the Gospel, which I love. The plan of salvation teaches us that we came to this earth for a purpose and that we can be together again with our family, friends and other loved ones if we do what is asked of us in this life. In the Temples we do saving ordinance work for our kindred dead so that they can also be partakers of eternal life. Jesus Christ is my Savior and my friend. I know that I can talk with Him at any time and about anything and He will answer me. I have received so much help and inspiration throughout my life from my Savior and Heavenly Father. I testify that Christ lives, that He knows each and every one of us, and that He loves us and wants us to return to Him and be happy. I know that the Book of Mormon is another account of Jesus Christ and that it is true. I cannot imagine my life without the gospel. It makes me so happy and blesses my life in countless ways.

How I live my faith

All LDS members have opportunites to serve in the church. I love having callings. I have been a ward organist, pianist, and president over 16-18 year old girls. I love being able to serve others, the blessing that it brings are amazing. I helped organize a service project where we sewed pillowcases and donated them to the Pediatrics Center of the local hospital. Besides living my faith just inside church activities, I strive to live it everywhere! Since I did Speech and Debate I had many opportunities to share my beliefs, the piece that I took to Nationals, was from the book The Hiding Place, by Corrie TenBoom, using the words of Corrie, I based my speech on what God did for them in the concentration camps. Not many judges agreed with what message I delivered in my piece and I was marked down just for that reason, but I know that if nothing elses, my faith grew.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Natalie
"We believe the bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly...." - Articles of Faith #8 We believe in prophets and apostles and we do believe the writing and accounts that are recorded in the bible. As far as it is translated correctly. We believe that God talks to us through apostles and prophets and the bible is filled with the writings of apostles and prophets. We do consider it to be a holy book and therefore read it and study it as part of our lessons in church, in our seminary and institute programs, as well as personal study. I took an Isaiah class as well as New and Old Testament classes at Brigham Young University Idaho, and I loved them. There is so much symbolism in the bible, and a lot to learn. It is a cohesive book with the Book of Mormon and helps us to learn more about our Savior and what he would have us do while we are here. Show more Show less
