Hi I'm Jen Owens

I am a mother to five fabulous kids. I am a Utah State Aggie. I love to garden, cook, read and be outside and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I will be 40 this year. Our family is at the stage where we have teenagers, in-betweens, and little ones as well. I love being a mom, it is difficult some days to be excited about all the meals and laundry and driving that needs doing. I would rather be in the garden, reading a book, or somewhere in the mountains. I remind myself I chose this, I wanted this. I look around at those cute, dirty faces and remember why I am doing this. I have the greatest job on earth!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by two wonderful parents who taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not only by their words but more importantly by the way they live. Growing up, the Gospel was a key element in my life and the choices I made. My testimony of Jesus Christ increased as I went to college and I knew I wanted my life to be Christ-centered. I am human, there were many times the path seemed unclear and the choices I made took me farther away from where I ultimately wanted to be. But the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Atonement and I could repent and tomorrow is always a new day. Now, I am a wife and mother still trying to make every day count. But again, when I mess up, tomorrow is still a new day and that gives me hope to keep trying. The principles of the Gospel bring peace and understanding. I find real joy when I am giving my best. When I read the Book of Mormon, I feel the Spirit and I know it is another testimony of Jesus Christ. I listen to the Prophet and I hear words that give direction and inspiration. Every day I try to live my life in a way that those around me, especially my children, know that I believe in Christ.

How I live my faith

I try every day to take care of the little things....say my prayers, read my scriptures, have family prayer....some days are better than others. But I truly believe that living the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a personal progression. And as I progress my testimony increases. The amazing thing about faith, it is an action word. My faith in Jesus Christ grows as I put to practice the principles I have been taught. Testimony comes as I continue to practice those principles and the Holy Ghost testifies to me I am doing what is right. I love my Father in Heaven. I am grateful every day for His Son, Jesus Christ and that I am loved by them just as I am. I will recieve the help I need to do a little better each day and the hope necessary to keep going.
