Hi I'm Megan Thacker

I'm a Texan. I'm studying to be a dietitian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in my last semester of the dietetics program at Brigham Young University. I've loved my experience at BYU and the great friends that I have made here. I love cooking, baking, being active, and having fun with my friends and family. I play the piano and love music. I also love to take vacations. This has been an important way for my family to bond over the years. Some of my favorite memories are from trips we've taken together.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so I've been taught the principles of the gospel my entire life. I also know for myself that the teachings of this church are true principles. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and I am forever grateful for His atoning sacrifice for me and my sins. It comforts me to know that no matter how hard life may get, there is One who understands how I feel. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and he truly restored Jesus Christ's church upon this earth. I also know that if I live a worthy life, I can return to my Heavenly Father and Savior and live with my family forever. I know and testify that these things are true. My knowledge and commitment to being a Mormon brings peace and joy into my life. Knowing that I have a Savior who loves me and has made it possible for me to return to heaven with my family brings indescribable happiness. I choose to be a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and that its teachings make me happy.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is really about the details of my life and how I choose to act on a daily basis. The Lord hasn't asked me to do anything beyond my abilities or capabilities. All He asks is that I live an obedient, diligent life. I choose to attend my church meetings, say daily prayers, read from The Book of Mormon and other scriptures, attend the temple, and serve others. I give these tasks a higher priority in my life because I understand their importance. I also share my knowledge and belief with those around me. Sometimes it is through conversation, but often it is through my actions. Those that come in contact with me know that I have a firm knowledge of the truth contained in The Book of Mormon and that I try to live my life in accordance with those teachings. I try to live my faith by making each small, daily decision something that Jesus Christ would be proud of.
