Hi I'm Kyle Kofoed

I was born in Denver, CO and moved to Utah in 1982. I work, coach, teach and play as often as I can. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a husband and my wife and I have two children. I am employed and that allows my wife to stay home and be a mother. We love spending as much time as possible together going and doing all kinds of different things. We are a very active family and very involved with sports. I grew up in the church and decided to leave college and pursue a two year mission in the State of Florida. I met so many wonderful people there! Upon returning home, I eventually graduated from college with a Business Management degree all while being a student athlete. My wife and I married prior to my Senior year and started our family in 2001. I started my professional career and have been with the same Salt Lake City based company ever since. I currently coach a swim team and teach others how to swim whenever I can. I enjoy being outside watching my son and daughter do any number of their activities. In my spare time, I enjoy road biking, golfing and fly fishing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am an active member of the church because of three specific reasons. Although the reasons could go on and on, three reasons should be enough. First, I believe in and continue to study the life of Jesus Christ in hopes of becoming like him one day. If His church is on the earth today, I want to be a part of it and be a dedicated member. I believe Joseph Smith and his experience in the Sacred Grove and feel that this is the Church of Jesus Christ restored again on the earth. Second, the family values and service opportunities in the church allow a behavior change and dependance upon God, the Eternal Father. I believe that faith, repentance, baptism and the Gift of the Holy Ghost are key requirements that everyone must follow in order to live with God again. My family is the greatest gift that I have on this earth and I want to spend eternity with them but I know that I must qualify for those blessings. As I continue to learn and grow, I am blessed with opportunities to help others do the same. Together, we will all return again to our heavenly home. Third, prophets and apostles are on the earth today. I believe that they are able to communicate directly with Deity and have the authority to counsel and provide direction for all of God's children. Because of the love of God, He has provided a mouthpiece for each and every one of His children to know and do the things that he would expect of us. Through their words, a feeling of peace and assurance ALWAYS comes to those individuals seeking truth. These are just a few of the many reasons that I am a member of the church.

How I live my faith

The church is a volunteer based organization and "callings" are given to men and women. Some callings are short and sweet while others are longer in length. My wife and I love teaching the children of the church and we get that opportunity frequently. I have been able to work in the Boy Scouts of America program for many years and have grown to realize the importance of that program. I am currently a Secretary for the ward that we belong to and am responsible for administrative duties. It is a busy duty but I get to work closely with wonderful individuals who love their callings as well.
