Hi I'm Kyle Toth

I'm a Coloradan, I love to laugh, I love life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest in a family of 7 people, and the only boy! I've lived in beautiful Colorado all my life. I love spending time with my family, reading, watching movies, and working out. Right now, I'm serving a Spanish-speaking mission in Fresno California.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been LDS, but I didn't become interested in my church until I was about 14. I hated going to church, and I realized that I either needed to find out if it was true, or stop going. So, I started reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. One night, while thinking about whether the Gospel was true and praying to know if it was, I recieved a witness from the Holy Ghost in a way I can't fully describe. I felt warm and happy, and clear minded, when only seconds before I had felt confused and a longing for an answer! Shorty afterward, I began a 2-year struggle with depression. I'd been told that I could find greater happiness by following Jesus Christ, so I started testing the gospel even more, praying about it and searching for answers. At that time, I began to feel God's love for me more deeply and fully than I'd ever felt before. I recall one night when it was really bad, I prayed and just started sobbing. I started to tell Him how I felt, and I immediately felt an overwhelming feeling of love and peace. It turned everything around. While my depression wasn't miraculously ended, the love and support God gave me helped me through it. He took my depression and used it to teach me that he really does love me, and that he answers prayers. I learned for myself that the Gospel is true. Since then, He's been my best friend. The thing I've come to love most about the Gospel is the knowledge that I'm never alone, in anything that I do. I've also come to know that God blesses those who do their best to follow Him. He's helped me in work, school, relationships, and in every other facet of my life. Sometimes I'm just blown away by how much He cares about me, even during times when I distanced myself from Him. I'm so grateful for all the blessings He's given me, and the ones He'll give me in the future if I stay true to Him. I know the Savior lives and that the Gospel is true because I found out for myself. So can anyone who puts it to the test.

How I live my faith

Before my mission, I always tried to keep the commandments, no matter what. There are some commandments that have been easier than others, but I've always been blessed for keeping them, sometimes in miraculous and unexpected ways. As I've lived the Gospel, I've seen the fruits that come of it. Now that I'm a missionary, I've seen it in the lives of others. I've seen and heard miracles on my mission that have strengthened my testimony of this Gospel and of the Savior even more. I've seen people steadily grow happier as they go through the conversion process. There's a light in their eyes. There are families who told us that when we started teaching them, their family relationships started improving. It's been an amazing experience. Looking back, I've derived more happiness from living the Gospel than anything else. I'm so grateful for the blessings God has given me. I'm amazed at how much richer my life is now than when it was before my mission and especially before I became active in the Church.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Kyle Toth
You just think deeply about what you're learning and what it would mean if it was true, and think about how merciful and loving God has been to his children since the world was created. Consider what it would mean to you personally if all this was true. Then pray to God with a sincere desire to know the truth and a determination to act on the answer, in the name of Jesus Christ, and with faith that He'll answer. Sometimes you'll get an answer right away; sometimes it will take weeks, months, or maybe even years. It may happen all at once or build up gradually. You may experience a dream or a vision that tells you it's true; but you'll more likely experience a feeling of peace, enlightenment, love, happiness, or all of them together.
