Hi I'm Cassia Verzello

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in California and have been married for 29 years. I have 6 kids and I teach piano.

About Me

I am a Mom and a wife and a grandmother. I love music of all kinds, especially the kind that lifts my spirits. I did not finish college, but instead worked and helped my husband finish his degree. I don't regret the decision because I have spent the last 27 years raising 6 beautiful children. They bring me so much joy and have been the hardest job I could ever land! Sometimes I think the world today puts so much emphasis on what you should measure up to or what position you should hold. I have loved nurturing my children, serving in my community, being available to help others and continuing to pursue my interests. I'm smart, I'm creative and I'm happy. Surprise! I'm happy and blessed to be married to a man who supports his family and supports me in my work. My children are successful, contributing citizens, who have learned to work within a family unit and are now building families of their own. When all is said and done, I want to be accountable for the work that went into making good people, not necessarily good things.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was given the huge blessing of being born into this gospel. My parents were converts as a young married couple, and have raised me in this faith. That being said, there is always a time in everyone's life when you have to make a choice to continue learning and exercising faith in the teachings you have been presented with. I know this gospel I live and choose to be a part of is true because I have tested it's promises. I have prayed in faith for answers and received them. I have asked for help and seen it come. I have begged in times of sorrow for relief and have felt the sweet peace that comes from our Savior Jesus Christ. I have learned about the principles taught by Christ and have tested them too. Keeping the Sabbath Day holy gives me peace and renewal. It gives me family time and service opportunities. It lets me reflect and separate my self, for one day, from the world. Living the Word of Wisdom, which is to obstain from harmful substances gives me health and power over my own body. Forgiving others gives me peace, but also the chance to strengthen my spiritual self above my temporal self. Repentance brings freedom from guilt and sorrow. I know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live. I have read about the testimony of others and I have tested their love for me for myself. I am blessed to have the gift of the Holy Ghost, after baptism, as a constant companion as I am worthy, and I am blessed to know that the Priesthood has been restored to the earth again. The Book of Mormon is true. Read it and find out for yourself. My life is good and full of happiness because I choose to follow Christ.

How I live my faith

In this world, living my faith is a challenge, but a strength! Everywhere we look morals are in decay and what used to be right is suddenly questioned. I find strength in daily prayer. It helps me remember my blessings and ask for help to get through each day. It just makes me remember God. I read in the scriptures and learn from others. Keep serving those around you and it is easier to see the good.
