Hi I'm Jeff

I was born in Germany. I grew up in Oregon. I'm serving a mission in the Philippines. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a full time mission in the Cebu, Philippines Mission and hope that one day I can come back with my future wife and kids because I love the Philippines! I was Born in Germany and have lived in a couple of states around the US because my dad is in the military. I love playing any kind of sport and being in the outdoors and going hiking. Especially night hiking! I enjoy being around my family and friends. I think that the random and last minute plans are most of the time the ones that turn out to be the funnest and most memorable times. My name is Jeff, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with all that I am that Joseph Smith was a called prophet of God, and only by and through the power of God he was able to translate the Book of Mormon. I believe that all good things come from God, and the fruits of reading and following the prophecies and teachings of the the ancient prophets within this book, have been nothing but blessings in my life. I am a Mormon because I am learning and understanding the doctrines of Christ and His teachings, which have been restored through Joseph Smith and other modern day prophets, that have answered, and continue to answer questions that I have and quench the thirst I have to learn about the mysteries of God. I believe that doctrine, understood, changes behavior. I think that is one of the biggest reasons I have come to love being a Mormon. And it's the miracle of change I have witnessed in myself and the lives of those I have been able to serve and teach on my mission. There is no greater blessing or feeling of forgiveness; being reconciled with God. The peace that flows into your life, when you know your on the right path and that you are on good terms with God, is a feeling beyond words. And I know that I have felt this because this is a blessing of the Gospel that can only come when the Gospel is taught correctly and fully, which in turn allows the learner to correctly and fully apply the Gospel in his or her life. I have felt the cleansing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ as I have learned and applied His Gospel fully in my life, and I have felt the enabling power of the Atonement as I worthily seek and ask for His grace as I journey through life's experiences.

How I live my faith

I have come to know that the joy and blessings that come from the Gospel of Jesus Christ, have little to no effect in our lives until it is followed and becomes a part of who we are. I believe that the Gospel isn't just a Gospel of following. But that it is a Gospel of change. I live my faith by being an example of my faith. I believe that the Saviors invitation to "follow him" is an invitation to discipleship, and one that will guide us back to our Heavenly Father. Through personal experience I have come to know that daily personal scripture study is key to our endurance through trials, and strength to withstand temptation. I have found peace as I study the words of Christ and have gained a greater vision of the purpose of this life through the personal revelation that is revealed through the scriptures. I live my faith, being as imperfect as I am, by striving every day to become like Christ. He doesn't expect us to be perfect, but I know that He does expect our very best effort. And as I give it my best effort, I feel His guidance and approval in my life. Which is all that I could ever ask for.
