Hi I'm Cole

I'm from Texas. I like being outside, listening to music, and learning new things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so it has always had a big influence on my life. I've been involved in Boy Scouts through the Church since I was eight and have always loved the outdoors. I try to go backpacking, camping, and fishing as often as I can. I also love watching and playing baseball and football. Music is also a major interest of mine. I like listening to music and discovering new songs and artists. I'm a percussionist and enjoy making music. Currently I'm a student at Brigham Young University studying mechanical engineering. However, I'm putting my classes on hold for two years to serve as a missionary in Concepcion, Chile. I have two great sisters and two awesome parents whom I love and enjoy spending lots of time with. I'll miss them while on my mission, but I look forward to teaching others about my Savior and His gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I can honestly say, however, that my faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ and from fervent prayer. I have asked my Heavenly Father many times to know what is right and if what I learn at church is true. I know that God hears and answers my prayers. After I read the Book of Mormon for the first time I prayed to know of its truth. The answer didn't come immediately, but over time I felt a calm sense of peace and joy. There was no doubt in my heart that it was true. Now every time I open it, I feel the same overwhelming confirmation. The same experience has come to me for many different aspects of the gospel. I know that God is our Father and that He loves each of us individually. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He suffered and died for my sins. I know that the Bible is true. I know that my family can live together forever and that God has a plan for each of us.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily by being a good brother, son, and friend, as well as attending church every Sunday. Currently, I am a missionary for the Church, serving in Concepcion, Chile. In this way I have the opportunity to focus more on living my faith and sharing it with everyone I can. I've always tried to fulfill my role as a home teacher by visiting member's homes to visit and share a gospel message. I also try to fulfill my other callings and positions in the church. Seeking out opportunities to serve those around me, inside or outside of the church, is also another way I try to live my faith. There's lots I can work on, and there are many around me who I look to as examples of living faithfully.
