Hi I'm Ryan Romero

I am a missionary for the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm from Murray Utah. I am a skier and snowboarder. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ryan Romero. Now I only have 1500 characters to tell you about my life. I could write about my love for snowboarding or music. I could write about my aspirations to be a mechanical engineer and hopefully one day a bio-medical engineer. However, I want to spend the remaining 1254 characters I have to tell you the most important thing about me, and that is my love for Jesus Christ and his Church. I am currently serving a mission in Atlanta Georgia. I have learned so much on my mission. The most important things that I have learned is that Jesus Christ lived and died for me because he loves me. I have learned this through many small--and sometimes large--experiences. I have learned that this Church is true. When I say, "I know this Church to be true" that statement entails many things. It means that I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that he did translate The Book of Mormon, and that through him Christ's Church was restored to the Earth in these last days. All of these things have increased my ability to love the Savior. This Church is true. It makes sense. The more and more I study and pray the more and more I know this within my heart and soul. I want to share it with the world and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to proclaim this to the few, but hopefully many, people that read this mormon.org profile. Jesus Christ lives! And He still leads and guides his church just as he did in days of old!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read The Book of Mormon, pondered on it's teachings, and prayed to ask God if it is true. I am a Mormon because I received an answer that it is true after I went through this process. Because I know that The Book of Mormon to be true I know that Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith is his revelator and prophet in these last days, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's Kingdom once again established on the earth.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by fulfilling Christ's commission to his apostles, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." I have been called by an apostle of the Lord to serve a full-time mission in Atlanta Georgia. I am doing my best to fulfill this incredibly important role.

Are Mormons Christians?

Ryan Romero
Mormons are Christians. Everything that we do as members of The Church of Jesus Christ is centered on Jesus Christ. We are Christians because we are members of Jesus Christ's Church. The term "Christian" first appeared in Acts 11: 26 when referring to members of Christ's Church. "And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." Christ's church, that very Church that was referred to here in this scripture has been restored back to the Earth today. It was restored by Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Members of this Church have the privileged to call themselves Christians just as the members in Antioch had the privilege to call themselves Christians. Because just like them, we are also part of Christ's Church. Because this Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is indeed that very same organization. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Ryan Romero
When Jesus Christ was here he set up a Church. A real organization with real members. That Church had Prophets and Apostles (Ephesians 4: 11-14). It had order. This Church faced many trials after Jesus Christ's death and the eventual death of all the apostles. Heresies began to enter into Christ's Church immediately after Christ's death. Paul made an incredible effort to correct these heresies in all of his epistles to the Churches. Unfortunately even Paul himself was martyred and then the heresies roamed wild. His warning, or prophecy, to the people of Miletus was fulfilled, "For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your OWN SELVES shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them." That Church that Jesus Christ set up while he was on the Earth was lost. Paul knew it was going to be, and so did the other apostles. When Peter spoke of a "Restitution of all things" in Acts 3: 19-21 he was speaking of apostasy and restoration. Because you cannot have a "restitution" of something, if that something was never lost in the first place. This restoration did occur. Christ's Church was restored to the Earth on April 6th 1830 to never be taken off the Earth again. Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Ryan Romero
We are all children of God, agree? There were people all over the world before and after the time of Jesus Christ, correct? Did Christ die for them also? Absolutely. Jesus said, "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold. Them also I must bring and they shall hear my voice and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." The world believes Jesus Christ to be speaking of the Gentiles, but having the fullness of the Gospel as a Latter-Day Saint we know this to mean the lost tribes of Israel. In the Book of Mormon when Jesus Christ does indeed come to the Americas to visit the Nephites and Lamanites he recounts his statement that he made in John 10: 16. This can be found in 3 Nephi 15: 21-24, " And verily I say unto you, that ye are they of whom I said: Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. And they understood me not, for they supposed it had been the Gentiles; for they understood not that the Gentiles should be converted through their preaching. And they understood me not that I said they shall hear my voice; and they understood me not that the Gentiles should not at any time hear my voice—that I should not manifest myself unto them save it were by the Holy Ghost. But behold, ye have both heard my voice, and seen me; and ye are my sheep, and ye are numbered among those whom the Father hath given me." Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Ryan Romero
Jesus Christ founded his Church and restored it through the Prophet Joseph Smith. That is who founded and restored Jesus Christ's Church back to the earth. Joseph Smith was a prophet, in every meaning of the word. Just as Paul was stopped on the road to Damascus by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and gave him a similar commission. Prophets have existed throughout time. They have always been God's venue to relaying his messages. Amos 3: 7 "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." That is how God has worked and will continue to work. Just as it says in Hebrews 13: 8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever." His Gospel will continue to be revealed as it has in days of old. Through Prophets. "Wherefore, by their fruits ye shall know them." Jesus Christ made this statement when warning about false prophets (inferring that prophets will still exist after his accession). Christ gave us a key to know how to tell a true prophet from a false prophet. By their fruits. Joseph Smith's fruit is The Book of Mormon. It is convincing evidence that he was nothing less than a prophet. It has changed millions of people's lives and has personally increased my faith in Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet because I know The Book of Mormon to be the word of God. Read, ponder, pray. Find out for yourself if Christ's church was restored. Show more Show less
