Hi I'm Clayton

I've lived in OR, CT, AZ, and CA. Currently finishing college in LA and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a Senior at the University of Southern California. I love playing sports, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and just loving life. I am a returned missionary (served in Mesa, AZ) and an Eagle Scout. I'm the youngest of 3, with 2 older sisters. I love the outdoors, traveling, watching movies, college football, and spending time with the people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but my parents are converts. Throughout my life I've gone to church and participated in activities but before my mission I never really consistently read the scriptures or prayed. I always had a testimony, originally based on my parents, but eventually I knew I needed to develop my own. I always told myself I'd serve a mission, so once I got older, I really started to dive into the gospel, and needed to know for myself if that was the right decision for me. As I served others and studied the scriptures more intently, my faith grew and my knowledge expanded. As I served a mission, I saw countless miracles and was privileged to share the gospel with so many of Heavenly Father's children. I grew to love the people I served around, and think of them almost everyday, even years later. I saw the power of this Gospel change lives everyday during my mission, and I know it is true. I love the Gospel, it has blessed my life in so many ways. Knowing about God's plan of happiness for me gives me so much perspective in life and helps me deal with challenges I face. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and that through His atoning sacrifice, we can be saved. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth today, and that he was a prophet of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet on the earth today, and that he holds all the same power and authority that Jesus gave to His Apostles in the New Testament times. I am grateful for temples, and the opportunity they give us to grow closer to our Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it is the word of God. I invite everyone to read it and find out for themselves if it is true.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by serving those around me and trusting in God. I am not perfect at living the Gospel, nobody is, but I try to get better. I know that Christ is my Savior, and that through His Atonement, I can overcome all of my weaknesses. On my mission, I learned how important faith really is, and how powerful it can be, as I saw countless miracles. Faith is a principle of action.
