Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Utah. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved music. I played the viola since 5th grade and loved it ever since! I am a college student. Medical classes have always been my favorite and I hope to go into radiology. Ever since I was young I have always been the quiet type. Although now I'm finding that I can talk a lot, I love to just be still and listen, especially outside in nature. As a family we often go camping and my favorite thing to do during that time is to sit and read a book or play games with my siblings. That family time is priceless to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church and have been surrounded by it's teaching my whole life. I don't think I fully appreciated it until I was in high school. During that time I was involved in many extracurricular activities and higher level classes. I was always very stressed, but through the gospel and participating in Church activities I found a relief from the daily grind and built great friendships. Not too long after graduation one of my best friends committed suicide. She had been in my ward growing up and we were very close, but I didn't know that she had been suffering from severe depression. After her passing I struggled for a while to find the peace that I had felt before. It's been almost a year and I can truly testify that having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life helped me through that time. The knowledge about the plan of salvation and life after death gave me comfort and joy. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ loves us and is always there for us. As we rely on the Lord through the trials that we experience, we can become refined, better than we were before, and more like our Father in Heaven. We can feel His love more fully in our lives and experience a greater measure of peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

For the past little while I have been in a Young Single Adult Ward and had to opportunity to be a visiting teacher. It has been such a wonderful experience! I love going to visit the sweet sisters we're assigned to and hear about their lives. Although we often prepare a message to share with them, hearing what those we visit have to say always strengthens my faith. Home and visiting teaching is a great evidence to me of God's love for His children. I also love attending the temple! The blessings and peace that come from serving in the house of the Lord are immeasurable! Every time I leave with more peace, happiness, and strength then I came with.
