Hi I'm Karla

In 7 days I'll be serving my mission in the Philippines Butuan Mission. I'M A MORMON AND I LOVE IT! ♥

About Me

Future Missionary. In two months time I will be serving my full-time mission in the Philippines Butuan Mission. I've been long desiring to serve the Lord in His vineyard. I have developed this desire when I was 16 yrs. old. I attended a welcome party for a returned missionary. I've witnessed how she loved serving the Lord through her mission. Her testimony of missionary inspired me to prepare myself. And now after a 3 years, I am fulfilling it. ♥ I am still a work in progress. I am still learning a lot about the Gospel. I am still strengthening my weaknesses. I am still learning how to be a true disciple of the Savior. I am still learning from my mistakes. I am still enduring. ♥

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a inactive member during my youth years. I am an on-and-off member. One Sunday I am there, next I am not. As I started studying for college and move to my Grandmother's house (of whom is active in the church) I get the chance to attend church again. One Sunday as I accompany my Grandma to church, the Bishop in their ward approached me and greeted me very warmly. It was the first in the past years that I felt the Spirit that time. It was because of that Leader's genuine love for me lead me back to the strait and narrow path. It was just a start though. What also strengthened more of my testimony is the testimonies of the people I met. I saw how the Gospel of Christ changed them. Theirs motivated me to live more the Gospel, to be true with my covenants and to be more obedient in the Lord's commandments. But the best thing of being a Mormon is the knowledge of Heavenly' Father'r perfect plan for us. It tells of how He loves us. How much He loves that He gave us His Only Begotten Son. The humbling knowledge that His son, OUR Savior, bled every pore just to redeem us from our sins makes me eternally grateful for His Atoning Sacrifice and thus keeping me in His Church. I love being a Mormon. And always will. ♥

How I live my faith

I am in the youth (particularly the young women) right now. I have been in the calling for almost 2 years now and counting. This has been the very first calling and I am loving it. I t is hard but this calling gives me the opportunity to serve the youth in the church and help them grow their testimonies more of the Gospel. ♥ I am also a Sunday School teacher (ages 12-13). I ultimately love this calling. I get to learn more of the Gospel as I prepare my lesson. Moreover, I get to share to my students how grateful I am because I have the Gospel in my life. ♥ I am still studying in our Institute of Religion (in Manila). I love being there as my testimony is strengthened by the testimonies of the teachers and students there. I am also part of the student council there and help in preparing for the activities every week. ♥

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

One thing that I learned from the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the principle of love. Our Faith in Him enables us to love as He loves Heavenly Father's children. The more we develop our faith in Him the more love our families and our friends. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are Christians! :) We follow His teachings and do our best to follow His examples. We are grateful for His Atonement Sacrifice and strive to always remember this in our daily living. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

We, Mormons, proselyte because we felt the joy of the Gospel in our lives and we don't want that it just us who can feel this happiness and joy. We want to share it with those who are our brothers and sisters. That is one of my reasons why I will go on a mission. I want others to feel that God knows them and loves them dearly. I want them to know that there are answers to the problems they are facing in this life. I want them to see the hope. Show more Show less
