Hi I'm Cory

I love sports, music, laughing and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Naperville, Illinois. I love playing/watching football and basketball. Being outdoors and staying active is what I do. In the free time that I have, I enjoy reading, but I don't get around to it as much I would like to. I am currently enrolled at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Math is my favorite subject and I am taking many math and stats classes. I have been called to serve in the Brazil Londrina Mission. I report to the Brazil MTC November 6th, 2013. I will be preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Portuguese language. I am very excited to serve the Lord for two years!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because life is too hard not to be. I can't imagine living my life without the truths that I know to be true. Growing up, my parents always taught me all things I should do and I listened to their words, but didn't always understand them. It wasn't until recently that I was able to have a change of heart and be able to realize why. My testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ began to grow little by little. I would gain knowledge of doctrine and know them to be true. I never did question what was taught to me until I reached my teenage years. As I began to question certain things, I went to the Lord in prayer for help. He made me know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the only true church here on the earth. I figured this out and knew this to be true through the Holy Spirit and the feeling I had inside. As I began to read my scriptures more faithfully, I began to feel the Spirit stronger and stronger each day. I also grew to know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I can remember back before I had this change of heart, I was more focused on things of the world and not as focused on the Gospel as I should've been. Those past days were days when I was not happy, In fact, I was in dire need of happiness. As I think about my life now and what's to come next in life, I am more happy than words can explain. I am a Mormon, because of the sheer happiness it brings into my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others through service as much as possible. Not only speaking of service projects, but also just random acts of kindness. I try to live so that my light shines and others see that and want to do the same. I will be serving a two year mission where I will serve people and also teach them of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I strive everyday to keep my standards high so that I can be prepared for my mission and to be able to be worthy to serve on my mission. There's no better feeling than seeing others overjoyed because of the work I've put in to serve them.
