Hi I'm Eloise

I'm a wife. I'm a mam. I'm my own boss. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For as long as I can remember I wanted to get married and have babies! Anything else I achieved in the meantime was a bonus. This dream was inspired by my mother and her mother. They were so happy in their roles and fulfilled them so completely! I married the love of my life in 2010. He is my best friend and I knew almost instantly he was the man of my dreams, very soppy, but true! We welcomed our first baby into the world in 2011, he is like a bottle of pop - full of energy and always on the go. Our house of trouser was added to when we welcomed our second son in 2014, another bundle of joy and my boys certainly keep me on the go. I was born in Wales and am one of three sisters, one of which is my identical twin. We are really close and time we spend together is so precious, especially as I now live 180 miles away. Being mothers at the same time is a great experience! I have my own small business making gifts and home/ garden decor items out of reclaimed wood. This is me and my husband's little labour of love. He does most of the wood-working and we paint together. I love singing and hubbie plays guitar so we love jamming together when we get the chance. I love all things crafty - scrap-booking, card-making, gift-wrapping and sewing (at least trying to). I also love cooking, and hubbie loves being the guinea pig to my experimenting (when it turns out well)!

Why I am a Mormon

Missionaries for the church knocked on our door when I was 6 years old and I was baptised 2 years later. Although I have to admit that my conversion to the gospel came much later in my life. In my early twenties I had a life-changing experience as I looked at a beautiful painting of Christ, displayed in the visitor's centre of the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. As I viewed the painting, which depicts Christ kneeling in agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, I felt the spirit whisper to me of the significance of the painting and that Christ's atonement was for me. This experience and many others have given me absolute faith in the teachings of this gospel. I know with my whole heart and every fibre of my being that Jesus is the Christ and that he suffered and died that I might be forgiven for my sins and return to live with my Father in Heaven again. I know that there is no other way that I can find true happiness and eternal life, only in and through the gospel of Jesus Christ, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am one of only three members of the church in my family but I hope one day that those who do not believe will come to realise the love and peace and happiness that can be found in the teachings of this true church.

How I live my faith

At the moment I am serving as a teacher in a church educational program called seminary to students aged 14-18 years. I am learning so much and loving studying from the scriptures and teaching an amazing bunch of students!

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely not. We are encouraged to pay contributions towards the church's humanitarian program which has and continues to donate money to and offer helping hands to assist those in the poorest and most desperate circumstances including those affected by natural disasters, war, famine, etc.. We are also encouraged to follow the example of Jesus Christ who showed love and kindness to all those he came into contact with. His challenge to us is to love our neighbours as we love ourselves. We also strive to involve ourselves in and be of service to those in our communities, including those not of our faith. Show more Show less
