Hi I'm Liesl

I'm a big sister, a communication major, and a music junkie. AND I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in several different places around the United States, including Idaho, Tennessee, and Connecticut. I never had the picture perfect "Mormon family." We were pretty normal, in fact. But that did not stop me from gaining a testimony that this is the true church. I love spending time with my friends, those that are Mormon and those that are not. We love to exercise, go to the beach, have bonfires in the backyard, and listen to music. Even though we each have times of trial, I still believe that life is to be enjoyed.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because at the end of the day, I want to return to live with my Heavenly Father. The only way I'm going to achieve that is if I lean on my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have to live by his commandments, frequently repenting of my sins. I'm a Mormon because I want to become better each and every day. I want to foster a close relationship with both Heavenly Father, and his son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by leaning on the Lord when things get really tough. You have to keep learning, keep striving. My new motto in college has been "if you fall, get back up." Even though I go to college with a bunch of other Mormon students, I can still be a light. I'm excited to be that light that someone might need.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are very much interested in the welfare of their family. They are service-minded and not only serve their families, but also others in the church and in the community. Mormons do believe in the equality of men and women. We believe that women are just as important to Heavenly Father as his sons are. However, that does not mean that men and women are the same or have the same roles. Men and women are different, but equal. Show more Show less
