Hi I'm Chellie

I was born in Japan & spent my childhood in Mexico. I've traveled to other countries too. I love to read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the sort of person that your parents love and you do too, but for completely different reasons. I am an unorthodox and outspoken person, and have been referred to on several occasions as refreshingly honest. I have a big heart and have been blessed with the gift of a compassionate and empathetic nature. I'm also a HUGE nerd. I have a hand in a little of everything and if I haven't heard of it, I'd love to listen to you tell me about it. I read tons and tons of books and I'm usually game for an adventure or two. Plus, I am, in all conceptual capacities, a Jack of all Trades and a woman of many, many hats. Literally and figuratively.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both converts of the church, so I was born into it. However, I have had the opportunity to experience other churches. I've visited family often enough to have gone to services for all sorts of Christian denominations and I look forward to experiencing many more. Not because I'm looking for something new, but because I enjoy finding connections between my beliefs and others'. I love this Gospel and living under it's guidance has brought me joy.

How I live my faith

I have served my church is various capacities, as a Sunday school teacher for young children, working to index names from census' and other official documents to aid in genealogy work, coordinating activities for the young singles program, helping with the local missionary efforts, and even preparing to serve as a missionary to spread God's word. I have also had the opportunity over the years to help with community clean up efforts, collecting resources for food drives and disaster relief efforts, and various other service projects.
