Hi I'm Benjamin Johnston

I grew up in Spokane Washington, I love mountain biking and distance running, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Benjamin Johnston, and I love the outdoors. Anything from camping to shooting guns to running and mountain biking if it is outside you will probably find me there. I also ran cross country and track in high school and had the opportunity to run for BYU. Right now i am currently serving a church mission in West Virginia. I love serving the Lord and want to be the best person that I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have seen how living the gospel of Jesus Christ can really effect someone. I will never forget the feeling that i recieved when i knelt in prayer to know if the Book of Mormon was true, a verse stuck out to me in particular that says "we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of sins." (2 Nephi 25:26) Never had a scripture had such an impact as this one did. I came to know by the spirit that Jesus is real, that the Book of Mormon really is another testament of Him and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints really is His church on the Earth.

How I live my faith

How I have chosen to live my faith is currently I am serving a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Virginia. I have learned much more than I have anticipated about serving others, putting others first and how the gospel of Jesus Christ has an effect on everyone. Helping others has brought a lot of joy to my life because I know that that is what Jesus would do.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Benjamin Johnston
Some of the things that tell me there is a God is by the feelings that I recieve when I pray. Feelings of warmth, comfort, peace and a sense of belonging come when I communicate to God by prayer. When I go mountain biking I always stop on the top of the biggest hill and enjoy the view. There you can see trees as far as the eye can see, a river that runs through it and there is usually a falcon or eagle flying through the air. When I come to think of these things I know that it wasn't happenstance or by chance. All of these things were placed here for us to experience joy. Show more Show less
