Hi I'm Mandi

I love art, music and adventures. Served 18 months in the Japan Nagoya Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Favorite color: Green Loves: My dog Kate, my family, and friends Favorite Food: Peanut Butter and Chocolate and Cherir Cream Puffs Likes: Art, Music, Japan, and Video Games Favorite Animal(s): hedgehogs, ducks, and foxes Dislikes: Natto, water, and bugs A Southern Hawaiian with spontaneous notions to go on crazy adventures out in Neverland, ever searching for the next exciting things to do. Shoots arrows with a beautiful Re-curve named "Maple" and a custom made long bow named "Midori". Yes, I am a "geeky gamer girl" who loves to go to those "creepy Conventions" dressed up as a Video Game or Anime Charater. However, I am always up for a hike down the Narrows or Subway at Zion's National Park; or camping out in Moab and watching the stars as we jeep across the slick rock. Clover hunting and drawing faeries are my favorite way to pass the time. I don't have any siblings, but always wanted some. Yeah, totally a daddy's girl.

Why I am a Mormon

You could say I'm one of those people who was "spoon fed" religion my whole life, but we all have free agency. After my first few years of college, I realized that I wasn't happy. I wasn't living a life that made me happy. Going to institute and church made me happy. I realized that I wanted to live with my family forever and I was not living in a way where I could do so. So I changed it. After a lot of struggles, repentance and tears I found myself happily embracing my father and mother and closest friends in the temple knowing that we were a family together forever. That was what made me happy. That is what made my heart sing with joy. Families can be together forever. Not just until death do we part.

How I live my faith

I be myself. I live the Lord's standards faithfully and stand up for what I believe in. As my dad always says, "Everywhere we go, everything we do and say, has an influence on someone or something. We are always being watched, and whether we want to or not, we are being an influence or influenced upon. So remember who you are." As a daughter of God, I intend to obey my Father in Heaven and follow his every command.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

This is a three part recipie: 1. Fervent Prayer Everyday we talk to our friends and family here on Earth, so why not talk to our Father in Heaven who created us? Through the ideal prayer is kneeling with your eyes closed and head bowed, we can pray anytime in our hearts. We can talk to our Father in Heaven anywhere. Why? We have so much to thank Him for! Everything on this Earth He has created. Everything we enjoy and the people we love. As we pray for him everyday our hearts are filled with joy and we feel God's presence around us. We feel the Holy Ghost enter into our lives and into our homes. 2. Daily Scripture Study When we read everyday, we find answers to questions. We feel peace when our hearts are troubled. We find amazing adventures and learn so many lessons. No matter how many times we read the same passage, we can always find something new. 3. Weekly Church Attendance When we attend church we are not only obeying a commandment from the Lord, but we are learning more about the Lord and His Son, Jesus Christ. We are able to partake of that sacred ordinance to renew our baptismal covenants. The most important thing we can do each week in order to feel His guidance and spirit. If we do these 3 things, we are guaranteed to come closer to our Heavenly Father. It's so simple, we often take it for granted. Something to look out for. Show more Show less
