Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm a daughter. I'm a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Alabama. I'm a HUGE Alabama football fan! I am a stay at home mom to 2 beautiful kids. I love reading, crafting, spending time with friends and family and hanging out at the lake.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church since 2006. I didn't grow up in any church in particular. During my high school years, I went to church with some friends but wouldn't really say that I believed what was being taught in that church. Honestly, I didn't know what they believed because I was only there for the social aspect. I met my husband the summer before my Senior year of high school and we started dating. My husband had grown up in the church, but at the time wasn't attending. His family however slowly started teaching me about the church. At first I was hesitant to say the least. I wasn't looking to find a church. After college, we got married and moved closer to my husband's family. It was close to Christmas 2005, when my husband mentioned us going to church with his family. I of course agreed and we went. The following week missionaries came to our house. They started teaching me more about the church, but it still wasn't clicking for me. I remember thinking "that's great that you believe, but it isn't for me." The following week 2 different missionaries came to continue teaching me and follow up from the previous missionaries. I have no doubt that these 2 new missionaries were sent to me for a reason!! Everything they taught me and the way they explained the church "just made sense." I was baptized a couple months later and have loved the church since. I know that the church is true. I know that Heavenly Father lives and that He knows me personally and that He answers my prayers. I have had so many prayers answered! I am grateful for all of the blessings and comfort that prayers and the scriptures bring into my life. One of the greatest blessings is knowing that I will be with my family forever!

How I live my faith

I am in charge of the women's group in our church. I love visiting with all the women in our Ward and getting to know them on a more personal level. It is so fun being a part of such a wonderful organization of women! One night a week my children, husband and I spend the night together learning about scripture stories. singing songs and playing together. I love to hear my children say their own prayers and sing church songs! Just goes to show that children really do listen. I am the only member of the church in my family so I try to teach my family and friends about the church by being a good example and living the gospel.
