Hi I'm McKay

I'm a math and science geek. I'm an engineer. I'm a music lover. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy college student studying structural engineering. I love playing ultimate frisbee and volleyball, and practically any other pick-up sport with my friends. I enjoy snowboarding and being outdoors, and a love for music runs deep through me. I am an Eagle scout and the oldest of six children, the five younger being all girls. I love life and the twists and turns it throws at me every day, because I know they make me stronger.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, so I've grown up with its influence my entire life. Being a curious guy, however, I spent some of my time researching and learning about many other religions, anything from Catholicism to Islam. Through my studies I have discovered many great and noteworthy things about each religion, but I have found that this Gospel of Jesus Christ imparts and truth and happiness upon me that I never want to live without. The teachings and doctrines of this Church bring knowledge and joy and a peace unlike anything else in this world, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Christ taught by example, and we are asked to do the same, lead our lives in a way pleasing unto Him. Perhaps the most vital ways in which I live my faith are through daily prayer and scripture study. Each morning and night I devote some of my time to speak with my Father in Heaven to let him know of my gratitude and needs. I also take time every day to study and ponder passages from the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon, for reading from God's ancient prophets reminds me of His commandments and the way I should be living and treating those around me. More recently I have chosen to serve a two year mission teaching and serving a people thousands of miles away from my home and family, in hopes that I will be able to share with them the light and joy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
