Hi I'm Ben

I'm from an Army family. I'm going into the Army. I'm a missionary, I love my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Provo, Utah and ever since then have moved around all over the country. I am the oldest of four children and I have two awesome parents. I played football at Katy High School in Katy, TX and made it to the state championship three years in a row which was a blast! I love the Army and am going into the Army after I am done serving a two year mission for the Church. I am an Eagle Scout and am very proud of that. I love Scouting and all that it entails. I worked at Philmont Scout Ranch for a summer as a Ranger which was awesome! I am now serving a two year mission for the Church in Carlsbad California.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 15 years old father was deployed to Iraq on an 18 month tour. I found out at the start of his tour that my mother was pregnant with my youngest brother. Being the oldest I now had the responsibility of taking care of my family which was quite stressful. I helped my mother through the pregnancy for the first part of my father's deployment. My father was able to come home for two weeks to see the my mother give birth to my youngest brother Jonathan. Then, he had to return and finish the last 6 months of his tour. Now I had an added responisibility of taking care of Jonathan and the family. I was going to seminary in the mornings and had school I also had to get a job to help pay the bills so a normal day for me would be wake up at 5:30 for seminary, school then work until 10pm and I wouldn't get home until 10:30 and then the rest of the time was spent taking care of the family. Then when things couldn't have gotten any worse I got appendicitis and had to have surgery which put me out for 2 weeks I was done. One morning I was reading in the Book of Mormon in Moroni chapter 10 and in there Moroni challenges us to ask if the book is true. So I took that challenge I layed it all out for Heavenly Father and asked Him for help. Immediately I got this feeling of overwhelming peace. It was as if Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ were right there with me saying, "We have got you now. Everything will be alright." I knew then that all of this was true. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I really try and emulate what the Savior did while He was here on the earth which was going about doing good and serving others. I really try and provide help for anyone who needs it by any means necessary and I love the feeling of love that I get through doing service. All through out my youth I have been called to positions where I have been able to serve my brothers and sisters in the Church and the community.
