Hi I'm Sara

I'm a lover of life, other cultures, and PEOPLE, I'm a missionary and I'm a mormon!

About Me

FINALLY! I'm in the mission field! I'm serving in Albuquerque, New Mexico while I wait for my visa to BRASIL! I love missionary work so much and love the people I've been meeting. I can't wait to meet and serve all kinds of new people because that would have to be my favorite thing to do. I'm also way into other cultures and languages, so going to another country for my mission couldn't be more of a blessing. For those of you who may be new to this whole mission thing, I submitted a request to serve a mission, and was called to the Brasil Curitiba Sul(south) mission. I'll be away from home for 18 months spreading the good word of the gospel and serving others in any way I can. I'll also be following some rules which means I can only write my family and friends letters, or email them once a week. Seems a little crazy but it's the best. I also get to learn portuguese! I love it so much already. Anyway, enough about that... some other basic things about me: I have a passion for music and could spend hours at a time discovering knew styles I like; I love my family tons, especially my four brothers- I'm the only girl and growing up as the only sister was more fun than i could have imagined-seriously, it's great; I really love being a Mormon. It's become such a huge part of my life, as religion does for many teenagers, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many members, I've grown up in the Mormon faith, but I've never had some big revelation or moment telling me that this is true or right. I've just always known. I'm blessed in that I've never had doubts. To me it all just makes sense. The Lord loves us, so he came up with a plan to make us better. He gives us trials to make us stronger, and He's there with us every step of the way. I know this because I feel His love all the time. I feel it through the spirit, through other people, though events, when I'm happy, when I'm sad, etc. This is why I'm a Mormon. That's not to say I haven't ever strayed off the straight and narrow, but it does mean that I've always had that love to lead me back, and continue living the way I should be. And I know that can be the case with any and everyone.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by spreading it. I love being a full time missionary, and talking to anyone about Mormons. In high school I was kinda known for being Mormon, so I was asked about it alllll the time. Every time someone referred to me as "the Mormon" I was reminded that I need to try to set a good example. I do this by, first and foremost, trying to be nice to everyone. Another important thing: when I stated what my standards are, I knew I had to stick by them-and still do. I also live my faith through responsibilities I have within the church. Mostly these have been leadership positions over other youth, which consist of doing everything I can to help the girls I serve and make sure they are loved. It's super fun.
