Hi I'm Chris Billings

I was born and raised in small town Iowa. I am a middle school principal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and the father of two children. I am an educator and currently serve as a middle school principal. I love sports--watching and participating. I love to read and was an English Teacher prior to being a principal. I spent two years in Korea as a church missionary. I love to ski. The feeling of gliding down a mountain is amazing. My most recent hobby is biking. I have a Trek bike that my wife purchased for my birthday, and I have been riding ever since. Great for stress relief.

Why I am a Mormon

Most of all, I believe in Jesus Christ. He is my savior and my redeemer. He is the only way to salvation (back to our Father in Heaven). His atonement allows us to repent of our sins. I believe the Bible and Book of Mormon contain the words of Christ. I believe His church had to be restored to this earth. I believe Heavenly Father knows us and answers our prayers. I believe he wants us to return to him. By sending his only begotten son to earth to atone for our sins, he gave us the opportunity to repent and gain salvation. I believe the Holy Ghost speaks to us of truth and directs us. It is a precious gift to receive personal revelation from God by the power of the Holy Ghost. The gospel of Jesus Christ makes me want to be a better person. It commits me to the things that matter most. It gives my life purpose.

How I live my faith

I am a local priesthood leader (1st counselor in the branch presidency) in my branch (local unit). I work with the youth--especially the teenagers in my branch. I live my faith in my community by standing up for what is right. I coach youth wrestling. I support what is moral and good at school.
