Hi I'm Britni Ward

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student hoping to someday go into Marriage and Family therapy. I love everything outdoors; camping, hiking, back-packing, horseback riding, and riding bikes. I love to cook and I sure love to try new foods. I'm a frozen yogurt connoisseur. And am currently taking a break from the college life to serve a mission in Baton Rouge Louisiana :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a family who are Mormons. But I chose to be a Mormon because I gained my own testimony of the truthfullnes and reality of this gospel. I have read The Book of Mormon. I have prayed to my Father in Heaven to know if what the book teaches is true and if what this church teaches is true. My prayers were answered and time and time again I have felt in my heart (not just in my mind) that the teachings in the Book of Mormon and of the Leaders of this church are in fact true. I know that if this church was not the church of Christ, God would not have permitted that I should continue to follow in it's teachings. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God. I know that he saw God and our Savior. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that book is completely the word of God. I can feel it and I can see it. I know that abiding by God's commandments and living the principles of the gospel, I have been blessed with great joy as well as my family.

How I live my faith

Currently, I have taken 18 months out of my own time and have dedicated it to my Savior and His Gospel. I am serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be serving in the South speaking Spanish. I have dedicated this year and a half out of my life so that I can share with others what I know to be the true restored Gospel. I am doing it because I love to serve others and I love the Lord and my Father in Heaven.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is something that you know to be true. It is truth that has been witnessed to your heart by the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Britni Ward
Coming to know our Father in Heaven can sometimes be a process but it is such a wonderful thing to be able to gain and feel a relationship with Him. In order to come to know our loving Heavenly Father, we first need to pray to Him. Pray that you will be able to feel His love. Pray that you will be able to come to know that He is there and that He is aware of you and knows you. As well as praying, as we serve others (His children), we can come to know Him. "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." The Book of Mormon-Mosiah 2:17 Along with serving and loving His children, when we are obedient and keep His commandments, we can know for ourselves that He exists. When we keep His commandments and see how they make us free, it will help us to understand that He is there because he created commandments to provide a direction and way that we may be able to be happy in this life. One commandment He has given to us is to study His word. His word is the scriptures (the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants) and is also the words of His prophets. "Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful...What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself...whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same. For behold, and lo, the Lord is God, and the Spirit beareth record, and the record is true, and the truth abideth forever and ever."
