Hi I'm Josh Carlson

I am a convert. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently enrolled in graduate school for clinical psychology. I am working on my internship to finish school. I am the only person in my family to have joined the church. I have been fortunate to have the support of my friends and family through my conversion. I have felt the holy ghost on many occasions and it continues to strengthen my testimony in the church. I was the person that many people said would never join a church. The gospel and power of the holy ghost proved to me the truth in the scriptures and the truth in our savior Jesus Christ. I am proud to say that I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion to the church was something that came out of no where. Like so many others I hit a place in my life where I needed more. I had been looking for so long to feel something more in my life. My introduction came from an unlikely source but I owe a lot to that person for introducing me to the church. As I began to explore the church many people came into my life and have been so supportive through the entire process. I soon went to the Temple's visitor center and met some of the sisters. I was invited to watch the Joseph Smith movie. Like I am sure so many others I was still skeptical and had many questions but I came in and with an open heart and open mind. I decided to invite the missionaries to my house to hear what they had. Not being easily convinced I still had a hard time excepting the gospel at first. After the first set of missionaries were transferred the second set seem to really challenge me. I began to feel the presents of the holy ghost when they would come for our weekly visits. Soon I was looking at them visiting as just friends coming over. Within a couple months I was asked if I felt ready to be baptized. I honestly was not sure so I asked if I could think about it. The next day I felt this overwhelming feeling that it was the right thing for me to do. I contacted the missionaries that day and set the date. The spirit that I have felt since joining the church can not be duplicated. The power of the gospel has given me strength when I thought I was already strong and when I was down. I found a true outlet in my life and everyday I feel the spirit with me and love nothing more than to share that feel with others. My conversion has truly mad my life better.

How I live my faith

I am currently a district leader in my ward. I oversee others and their home teaching as well as doing my own home teaching. Home teaching has been some of the best ways to really feel the spirit and to share your testimony of the church. I currently love to share the gospel and my story when I can. I feel that when coming from a convert it can make a testimony more relate-able. I take pride in doing missionary work everyday. I love to answer questions and clarify misunderstandings. I enjoy being around others in the church and being involved in my church functions. This really helps to stay close to the spirit and the gospel.
