Hi I'm Ellie

I'm a recent high school graduate. I'm a photographer. I'm a Twins fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a freshman in college, I love going on walks, and I can make some pretty mean guacamole. I am preparing to serve a mission this summer. I love the gospel, and can't wait to share it with others!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized 2 days after my 18th birthday.

How I live my faith

I "graduated" from the Young Women's program in September of 2012, and in March of 2013, I received my calling to teach the Laurel Class (16-18 year old girls) on Sundays. One way I live the gospel is through constant preparation to teach the girls, and be a shining role model for them! I also live the gospel through daily scripture study and reading.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Ellie
I was fortunate enough to serve as a temple worker in my local temple in preparation for serving my mission. To enter the House of the Lord, one must be a baptized member of the Church, and in good standing (meaning that they abstain from coffee and tea and are chaste, among other things). We want to ensure that those that come to the temple to participate in ordinances are worthy to be in what we consider the literal House of the Lord. You may have heard this term, sacred but secret, but it very accurately describes what we do in the temple. We believe that the ordinances we are performing are very sacred and are not to be discussed in light conversation or with those who have not experienced them. However, that does not mean they are secret. We perform ordinances such as baptisms for the dead, sealings of husbands and wives and children to their parents, and give blessings and teachings through other ordinances as well. The temple is a wonderful place of love and spirituality. Show more Show less
