Hi I'm Valerie

I grew up in North Carolina and Texas. No, I don't have an accent (sadness!). And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a total nerd and the first to admit it. I love singing along to the radio, dancing crazy and staying up all night reading a good book (at least I used to stay up all night before I became a mom). I've discovered in life that everyone is unique and has their own wonderful way of being a so called ''nerd." I believe that each individual we meet is truly that, an individual. Not just some person that should be forgotten. We all have special talents and characteristics that make us different from one another yet interesting and worth getting to know.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings happiness to my life. My greatest loves in life are the gospel and my family. I know that we are meant to be happy, that our Heavenly Father wants what is best for each of us and truly loves us. Christ is the ultimate example of love and sacrifice, which I think families are all about.

How I live my faith

I believe that each day is a gift, that it is an opportunity to better oneself. When I was growing up I tried to learn from the example of others; I saw the impact that one's choices can have whether they be positive or negative. I made the choice long ago that I wanted to be happy in life. Because of that, I've always worked hard to stay true to my values. Life is hard and so I try and take one day at a time, being a bit kinder, a bit more patient and a bit more loving than the previous day.
