Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father of 4 kids and a teacher. I teach biology, mostly anatomy and physiology. I like to watch and play football, basketball, and baseball. I grew up in Sacramento so I like the Kings. I also like the A's and the world champion San Francisco Giants. My favorite football team would be the Dolphins or the 49ers. Although since I moved to Indiana I have started to like the Colts. I went to the University of Connecticut so I like their teams, especially basketball (men and women). I also went to BYU so I like their teams, especially football. I like hiking and camping. I'm an eagle scout. I was a scoutmaster for 4 years, now I'm starting to get involved with cub scouts since my son has joined. I like computers, and new technology. I have epilepsy, but I haven't had a seizure in 2 years. I have a vagus nerve stimulator. I am the advisor for the biology club at my school. we do lots of fun activities. this past year we went to see the bodyworlds exhibit, we went camping, spelunking, and on a trip to the US Virgin Islands where we went snorkeling and saw all kinds of cool fish and coral and sea turtles. I like funny movies, I love my wife, I love spending time with her and my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I have ancestors who joined the church long ago and walked across the plains with the pioneers. my parents raised me in the church. When I was 13, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it and the calm, peaceful feeling in my heart let me know it was true. When I was 16, I had my first seizure. I ended up having brain surgery but I had about 3 months before it was going to happen. I prayed more in those 3 months than I had in my previous 16 years combined. My prayers were very sincere, and I grew closer to my Heavenly Father. I really felt his love for me and I knew that even if I died, I would be okay. I have had so many experiences in my life that let me know how much my Heavenly Father loves me and cares for me. I continue to study the scriptures and pray and I know I am happier when I do this. I know our family is happier when we pray and read scriptures as a family. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that he was called to restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this dispensation. I know that the Book Of Mormon is the word of God, just like the bible. I know that we have living prophets and apostles on the earth that will guide us through these last days. I know that Jesus Christ was resurrected and he lives today. I know that he suffered more than we can comprehend in the Garden of Gethsemane so that we can have the opportunity to repent. I know that he has felt all of our pains and sorrows, and he did this so he can help us. I know he will help us as we ask him through prayer.

How I live my faith

I try to follow Jesus example and help others whenever I can. I frequently teach the men on sundays. I try to help everyone be a little bit better. I visit the widows and the sick. I pay tithing. I visit families and try to strengthen them. I try to live all the commandments and be a good example to those around me.
