Hi I'm Norm "Doc" Halliday

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 4 of 5 adult aged children, and have been married for 24 years to my beautiful bride and the mother of all our children. As I am still in the first years of my journey within the LDS faith, I still have much to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up primarily in the Baptist religion and when the Missionaries would stop by for lessons and just to talk, I found out that many of the teachings of Jesus Christ are taught the same in different religions. I thought it was a little strange they realized I had a extensive knowledge of the Bible and the many lessons they brought up. In my conversion to becomea Mormon, I discovered that many of my beliefs were similar to those of the church. It was also important because my wife has been a lifelong member and my children were baptized previous to me.

How I live my faith

As many in today's world I have found myself "backsliding" from my commitment to attending church and serving in my callings. I have a demanding job and spend many hours in the srvice of others as my job requires. I try to let my decision making and wisdom show in my life through my actions in my work.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Norm "Doc" Halliday
As a child with my parents and later as a young adult I attended several different churches in the south Florida. The services from one to another were very similar, however it was not until I became a young adult I started to notice the subtle differences. After attending the Mormon church services and listening to the Missionaries and the level of committment of the members, I felt I found what I was searching for. God knew my thoughts and silent prayers and I beleive he answered them. Show more Show less
