Hi I'm Sam

I swam for the University of Alabama. I love Bama football. I love food! I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the church of almost five years! I swam at the University of Alabama during my freshman year of college. Then, took a year off from school and moved to Paris, France to be a nanny for an LDS family. Now, I'm serving in the Phoenix, Arizona Mission, speaking Spanish! I love my family, my church, my friends, and my Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a freshman in high school, my dad was deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan. While over there, he was introduced to the church through an LDS friend. It was a source of comfort and joy for him so when he came home, he wanted to share this with his family. He invited my mother, my two sisters, my brother and me to attend the local LDS church with him. After the first hour of church, we walked up to the missionaries and asked to be taught more about the church. That afternoon, we had the missionaries, the mission president and his wife at our home for dinner! Over the next couple weeks, my family continued to attend church and learn from the missionaries. My family was baptized the summer before my sophomore year of high school and was sealed one year later in the Birmingham Alabama Temple. Being sealed to my family was one of the most amazing experiences and I hope that I never forget the feelings I had there. I love going back to the temple! And I hope to bring other families the joy that was brought to mine when I'm on my mission!

How I live my faith

I live as an example of the Church as the only member on my swim team, in my high school, and in my college classes and I am devoting 18 months of my life to serve the people in Phoenix, Arizona and preach the gospel!
