Hi I'm Jordan Shuler

I grew up in Utah,I recently returned from a two year mission in Texas, I have an awesome family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Utah as part of a big family. I have great parents who raised me in the LDS faith and taught me to be kind to everyone I meet and treat all people with respect. I spent a lot of time reading books, particularly fantasy novels, playing video games, watching tv or movies, and spent a lot of time playing board games and card games with my family before I left my home to serve a mission in Houston Texas. While in Texas I truly came to appreciate my family and my faith. They are center of everything I am. Any time me and my six older siblings have a chance to get together we play games, watch our favorite movies, and laugh till it hurts. I love to study history, I love teaching, and I love music so when I return to school in the Fall I'm going to try and figure out a career that lets me stay involved with the things I love to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born with a number of health proble that can make things difficult at times but despite this, I am able to live a very happy life and much if not all of this is due to my faith. When times are difficult I know I can always turn to my Father in Heaven in prayer and he will send comfort, strength, and blessings to me and my family. I can't really express in words my gratitude to my Heavenly Father and the Savior for all they have done for me, especially for the gift of my incredible family and wonderful friends who have supported and blessed me my entire life. I have felt the power and presence of the Holy Spirit guiding me, strengthening me, and giving me the faith to try and serve our Heavenly Father with everything that I have. I want everybody to feel the things I have felt and know the things that I know because I know that everybody can be blessed by it. I firmly believe that Heavenly Father loves us, that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and wants nothing more than for us to partake of His atonement and return to live with our Heavenly Father. I testify that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, that the Book of Mormon is another testiment of Jesus Christ and contains the gospel of our Savior, and that Thomas S. Monson is God's Prophet on the Earth today. This testimoney is a part of me, it is central to everything that I am, and I am eternally grateful for everything that Heavenly Father has done for me.

How I live my faith

Before I came out on my mission I served in a number of different ways in the Church. I was a part of many service activities, went to Church every Sunday with friends and family, and even had the chance to teach children for a few months before I left for my mission in Houston. In Texas, I spent day after day and month after month serving our Savior and the people in Texas. Preaching the gospel in Texas changed my life. My love for the Savior and for the children of God increased beyond measure and my appreciation and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ became firm. I learned that being a disciple of Christ is more than just a sum total of what you do, if it is true discipleship then it is who you are. In Texas I spent my time talking with people about The Savior and His power to heal and redeem us all. When I wasn't teaching I was studying or giving service and constantly trying my best to live up to the example of The Savior in my own small way. These things helped me bring The Gospel from the world I chose to live in to the person that I choose to be. Now that I've returned from Houston I live much like many other people do. I'm preparing to go to school, I'm looking for a job, I enjoy time with family, and I struggle with the things that many struggle with. The way I live my faith is by day in and day out continuing to try and be who Christ would have me be. I study daily from The Holy Scriptures, pray every morning and night and regularly throughout the day, go weekly to church to worship and teach, and try to look for opportunities to serve and bless family, friends, and anyone else I can. Again, there are many ways that I live the Gospel with what I do, but my ultimate goal is to live the gospel through who I am no matter where my life and circumstances lead me.
