Hi I'm Brittani

I am a photographer, a writer, an optimist, a sister missionary in Texas, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love life and like to refer to myself as an optimist. I love my family, my mom, dad, and four younger siblings, and I love spending time together as a family. I love spending time with people, I am definitely a people person. I am also a morning person. I am a college student studying English Education and absolutely love it! I love to read and write, I love to admire others beautiful stories and worlds of their own design, as well as creating and visiting mine own as often as I can. I love writing fantasy and science fiction, they are so intriguing and full of excitement! I love photography and videography. I love capturing incredible moments and keeping them to adore for years to come. I was apart of my high school's yearbook staff for three years, as well as, the news paper for my senior year and loved it! I like to spend my free time watching TV shows on Netflix or reading clean and clever books. I look at others and think about the wonderful things I can find about them. I love to serve others and make sure others feel welcome and cared about, this is very important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Why do you drink water? The spirit fills me inside and helps me keep one foot in front of the other. I find comfort in Heavenly Fathers ETERNAL plan. I know the Atonement is real, as much as I know the sky is blue. It was worked MIRACLES in my individual life. It has taken away guilt, sorrow, resentment toward myself, embarrassment, sin, anguish, anxiety, and so much more off of my shoulders and helped me feel contentment and peace of mind, heart and soul. I know Christ lived and died to save us physically, emotionally, and spiritually, as well as to teach us and set the ultimate example for us. I know that Heavenly Father allows trials to cross our paths so that we can learn, grow, show our faith and recognize the bad days from the great days. Through faith in Christ and His atonement, we can do all things. I know that Joseph Smith restored the same simple and beautiful gospel of Jesus Christ here on the Earth. I know that the Book of Mormom, like the Holy Bible is the pure word of God. I know this with all of my heart because I have put forth the effort and found this truth for myself. I know that there will always be more to learn, some things we wont learn in this life because we simply don't need to know right now. I know that I am acknowledged and loved by The Almighty God and so is each person around each of us. I know that we are all different humans and will be judged by Heavenly Father differently. I know that Heavenly Father is a caring an understanding God, who wants, more than ANYTHING, for YOU to get on your knees and talk to Him. He longs to hear from each of us, His children who He loves very much. I know that it is when we humble ourselves and come unto Christ that we will find temporal and eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

It was when I was 14 that I started to really BELIEVE in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It was then that I really started to believe that the gospel was real, that it was true! I believed it, yet I didn't live the standards that the Lord asked of me to live. Two years later my parents sent me to fey (especially for youth), a week long summer institution for youth 14-18 to go have fun and learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. The theme was the 13th article of faith which states "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." At efy they explained that it is one thing to BELIVE in something, and another to actually LIVE or BE what you BELIEVE. I made the decision there that I was going to LIVE the gospel. I humbled myself, repented of my sins, and got myself on the path to BE and LIVE as the person I wanted to be. It made all the difference in the entire world. As I used the Atonement in my life, not only were my sins washed clean but many of my anguish and anxieties. This Gospel IS true. Now, I LIVE my faith by striving to build myself a little more each day, because we are never "done." I am striving to strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I try to set an example for others the best I can as an imperfect human being. I LIVE my faith by loving others, observing the teaching of Christ and striving to love others like He loved them. I want all to feel loved, to feel welcome, to feel like they matter in this world and that they matter to God. I live my faith by building myself and helping others find light one day at a time.
