Hi I'm Amy

I'm a young wife and mother. I'm a girly girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom right now and I love it! It's not easy, but I get to take care of my two precious little boys and I try to make it fun. My hubby and I want to have a big family. I want to have daughters so I can do their hair and dress them in cute dresses. I love going shopping and getting my hair and nails done- (I hardly ever do that anymore though, now that I have kids). But I think those things make life more fun. I also love to read. Twilight and The Hunger Games are two of my favorites! (I need to read more educational books and church books, but I always end up getting young adult novels like Twilight from the library instead). I used to work at a library and loved it. I want to love cooking, but I really don't like it! I do it for my family, but I would so much rather go out to eat. I love to play the piano and plan to teach my kids all about music.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and always loved it. I loved going to Young Women's in middle school and high school. Two of my best friends joined the church when we were in high school, and we strengthened each other. We read scriptures and prayed together. And I always read scriptures and prayed with my family. We also had family home evening most weeks. My mom was a great example to me. I would always see her with her scriptures in the morning, and I would walk in her room and see her on her knees praying. I could always talk to her about everything, and I relied on her testimony a lot. When I was nineteen, I finally made a habit of reading the Book of Mormon every day on my own. That's when I started to know for myself that the church was true. I had the Spirit with me every day because of that, and I started to be able to make decisions easier. I was more confident in who I was. I knew and I still know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that I am a daughter of Heavenly Father. He loves me and watches over me, and He answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

The Church is part of my every day life. I try to read in the scriptures every day and pray more than once a day. We pray as a family before meals and before bed, and we have Family Home Evening once a week (or try to- with little kids it's sometimes hard). And we attend Church together every sunday. The Church leaders encourage all families to do these things. I know it brings us closer together as a family, and it brings the Spirit of Christ into our home when we are doing these things. I've had different callings in the church, but right now I work with the Primary children in our ward. I've learned a lot about service from doing this calling. My two counselors and I take turns teaching on sundays. We plan lessons and activities for the children. There's a lot that goes into this calling, but my life has been so enriched because of it. It's nice to get together with the other leaders and uplift each other and feel the love we all have for the children and for the Lord.
