Hi I'm Janelle

I am a wife and mother of three. I take pictures, I run, and I have a major sweet tooth. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother to three young children, our oldest being 5. For the past 7 years of marriage my husband has been in school and recently graduated with a law degree, so we have lived through some pretty hectic schedules throughout the years! I am a family and wedding photographer on the side to earn a little extra income as well as to have some sort of creative outlet. To keep myself sane I run and really enjoy running organized races, though I must admit, I'm not very fast!

Why I am a Mormon

Since I can remember, I have been a member of this church and it has helped to shape me into the person I am today. My life is happy. It is definitely not perfect, but it really is a happy life. The church has taught me how to be a good person, how to keep my body and my mind healthy, where I came from, why I am here, and where I will go after I pass away. I find so much comfort in knowing that there is a purpose to this life and there is no question that I will still exist after I leave this earth. Not only that, but that I know I will have my family with me forever. Through the sealing power of the priesthood I will be with my parents, my siblings, my husband, my children, and all those other family members that I love and have been sealed to throughout the generations. That is so exciting to me! The whole church is based upon the gospel of Jesus Christ and we are taught about the atonement, when He gave his life on the cross so that we could be forgiven of our sins and one day be resurrected like He was. I don't know where I would be if I didn't know that Jesus did that service for me and that anytime I make a mistake and ask for forgiveness it can be granted to me. Like I said before, my life isn't perfect and I am definitely far from perfect myself, so I am so grateful to know that I can one day become perfect through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I just can't imagine living a life without this knowledge and I know I am a better person because I live the standards of this church.

How I live my faith

We do a lot of service in our church. As women in the LDS church we are assigned to visit certain women each month as well as be visited by someone each month. I love this because everyone knows what is needed by each woman because of these visits and people's needs are met through this program. I've helped by serving with the youth and visiting the older members of our congregation, fixing dinners for new mothers or cooking funeral luncheons, cleaning up parks, and making blankets for hospitals.
