Hi I'm Rebekah Claar

I'm a hairstylist and a full-time student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Bekah and I'm 22 years old. I've been a hairstylist for the past 3 years and I recently decided to go back to school for medical imaging. I know things are gonna be a little crazy for a while but I also know that it'll be worth it and that I'll get through it. I enjoy spending time with my family; family is very important to me. I also love music, all kinds. My favorite genre is 40's Big Band Era music. I love all things retro and I wish that i could have been alive at that time, the world seemed so enchanting. My greatest ambition in life is to become a wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up Mormon. My mother is the one that was converted by the missionaries and her decision influenced everyone in my family. Even though I was born into the church doesn't mean that I was born with a testimony. The first time I can remember knowing for an absolute surety that the church was true was when I was 12 years old. I was completing a project in the Personal Progress program and I had to read the entire Book of Mormon and after I was done, to do what Moroni asks and ask God the Eternal Father if it was not true. I can remember that while I was praying I felt an overwhelming sensation that all that is in the Book of Mormon is true . I know that this is Christ's church and that it is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today. I know that Heavenly Father knows ours names and knows who we are and is willing to help us if we but have the faith to ask Him. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently called to serve as the secretary in the Young Women's program. It wasn't too long ago that I was one of those girls sitting there through those lessons and participating in weekly activities. Before this calling I was called to be a pianist for whomever might need the use of one. Serving in the church is not always easy or convenient but I know that it's worth it and I have the opportunity to be able to touch and influence lives. When things are getting tough, I remember that I'm not only serving those around me but I am also serving the Lord.

What is being a Mormon like?

Rebekah Claar
Mormonism isn't just a Sunday religion, it's a lifestyle. Praying and reading the scriptures occur on all days of the week. I am always mindful of my Heavenly Father and His love for me. Families are one of the greatest things that I could have been given. No family is perfect and we don't always get along with each other but I can honestly say that the members of my family are the best friends that I will ever have and I know that if it weren't for the church and the gospel of Jesus Christ, I wouldn't hold families as important as I do.
