Hi I'm Curtis Yardley

I grew up in Utah, California and Arizona. I have 14 children and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Utah, California and Arizona. My family finally settled in Arizona where I graduated from High School and served a mission for my church in England. After my mission i came home and got married, we had had 8 beautiful children. After 24 years of marriage I unfortunately found my self facing the devastation of a divorce. I have now been married to the most unbelievable woman and mother for a year. She has 6 great children so together we now have 14 kids. She is my best friend and companion. I'm proof that our Heavenly Father does know and love us and will always be there for us even in our darkest hour. I work for a municipality here in the Phoenix area as the Streets Manager. I love my job and the people I work with I enjoy going to work everyday. I am so blessed and grateful for my family and my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the LDS religion I consider myself a convert to the church. I grew up learning and hearing about the church from my parents and church leaders. I believed the things that they were teaching and telling me. Eventually as you grow and learn that isn't good enough anymore you start to question and wonder for yourself if the things you have been taught your whole life are true. As I started to prepare for my mission to England I knew that I would have to know for myself if these things were true. If I were to be able to teach and testify to the people in England about my church then I would have to know of a certainty that they are true. I can tell you without any doubt or reservation that through study and prayer and applying Moroni's promise from the Book of Mormon that I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church here on the earth today. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and restored Christ's church to the earth in the latter days. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today that receives modern revelation for us today. I know Jesus Christ is mine and your's personal savior that through his grace we are saved through the Atonement as we repent of our sins and strive to be better people. I know that families are eternal and that we can live together forever in the eternities to come.

How I live my faith

Our church is an everyday church, that doesn't mean that you go to church everyday but that you live it everyday. My calling in my ward is to work with the 16-18 yr old young men. I instruct them on Sundays and do activities with them every Wednesday evening. I love spending time with my family and taking all of my kids to their different activities. With 14 kids there is always something going on. We try to have family prayers every morning and night with our kids as well as family home evening every Monday evening. It is a time set aside where we spend time as a family each one of the kids take turn teaching a lesson and we have refreshments afterwards.
