Hi I'm Denise

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the LDS church & was baptized on 1 January 2012. My 18 year old son was baptized in October 2011 & I followed him by Heavenly Fathers will. I am a single Mother of 1 son who is a freshman in college (2012/2013). I have two precious dogs that are a big part of my family. I love being a mom to my son, all of his friends, and the missionaries. I have been inflicted with a chemical imbalance throughout the majority of my life – which most of my life I have spent in a downhill spiral of great depression feeling as if there was no reason to live, fighting PTSD and all the turmoil & struggles of my past until one day the missionaries came to my house with a sister from the church and she told me that I deserve to be a daughter of Heavenly Father and I knew from that moment my life was going to take a dramatic step towards a brighter future. I know I am a child of God and that he loves me. I love to read scriptures and have them inspire my life. I love to do missionary work. I LOVE spending time with my son! I love to organize celebrations for others. I am learning to garden & really enjoy it. I love to travel (road trips are the best.) I have just started crocheting I am currently spending time tracing my genealogy. I love having dinners with the missionaries & spending time with them (it’s a mom thing –it’s like they are my kids & I have a need to nourish them as they have a need to nourish me spiritually.) I enjoy helping others. I AM NOT PERFECT.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon & I know that the Church of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. All of my life I did not believe that there was a God due of all the chaos in the world, abuse, famine, & all the evil but with understanding that there is a God we have to understand there is opposition. Heavenly Father loves & believes in all of his children so much that he gave us free AGENCY–so if the saints rely on Heavenly Father & all of his teachings we are promised eternal life with those we love. My greatest desire is to spend all of eternity with my son, my mom-mom, & those that I love in the presence of MY Heavenly Father. I never knew truly what happiness was before I gathered amongst the saints. The LDS church is perfect but the people may not be perfect. I remember the day the missionaries were here (Elder Williams & Elder DeCoria) were in my home in the middle of winter with my front door wide open & the coldness of the air was breathing all around us & I remember Elder Williams telling me about the first vision of Joseph Smith & the Holy Ghost was undeniably in our presence with the warmth, peace, & love of Christ filling the room with great comfort, opening my heart to know that Joseph Smith is the first prophet of the last dispensation. Heavenly Father tells us, there is “One Lord, one afaith, one bbaptism” Ephesians 4:5. I am Mormon because I know that Heavenly Father is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I love knowing now that my purpose here on this earth is to do Heavenly Fathers work & that he believes in me so much, that he knows me personally & knows that I am strong enough to endure to the end. I am a Mormon cause I Love Heavenly Father & believe in the restored gospel. I believe in the Word of Wisdom. I believe in the Articles of Faith. I believe in the Atonement. I believe in the missionary work that we are sent here to do– to gather the saints for the second coming of Christ. Finally I believe I have truly been set apart for Heavenly Father!

How I live my faith

I attend all church services and meetings regularly. I read my scriptures as often as possible. I serve my calling as a ward missionary. I practice all things in Christ by faith. I go to the temple as often as possible. I was told during my baptism by one of my speakers that if the church asks you to do something “do it” so I try to practice that as often as possible. I visit with other sisters throughout the month to see if there is anything they may need to help ensure that Heavenly Father’s saints are present in their lives. I pay my tithes as it is asked of us to do in the scriptures. I fast with the church as a whole. I try to help the missionaries in their callings. I am learning to pray often morning, midday, & night and any time the need is there. I try everyday to live by example. I try not to judge others. I support the living Prophet and the leaders of the LDS church. I try to study the conferences. I keep a gospel journal. I try to follow the commandments and covenants I made with Heavenly Father. Galatians 5: 22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is clove, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And GOD tells us the greatest of these is love so I try to express this often.
