Hi I'm Mario

I live in Rocklin, California. I married my sweetheart 25 years ago and we have five wonderful kids. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For my day job, I teach graphic design at the local state university, but I also moonlight as a cartoonist. I love to hang out with my family at home or in the outdoors. I love to fish for trout and just enjoy getting out into nature. Currently I'm the Ward Clerk in my ward.

Why I am a Mormon

I learned about the church when I was 14 years old. I took the missionary discussions and the elders that taught me answered a lot of questions I'd had concerning God's plan for us in this life. Once I got baptized, I enrolled in early morning seminary (kind of similar to Catholic catechism, but daily) and I really learned in-depth about the Book of Mormon, especially how it is another testament of Jesus Christ. I learned how God spoke to prophets on the ancient American continent as well as in Palestine. And I am so grateful to have records of his dealings in both the Holy Bible and Book of Mormon. What's more, I know that God continues to talk with prophets in our modern day. He lives. And He wants us to know His will.

How I live my faith

I feel having a testimony is more than just knowing the truth of the gospel, but living it everyday. Obedience to my God and service to my fellow man is how I try to live my faith.

Are Mormons Christians?

The name of our church says it all: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." We believe that Jesus Christ is central to Heavenly Father's plan. Jesus Christ is our creator, but more importantly, He is our Savior. He came down to this earth to show us the way and atone for our sins. And it is only through Him that we believe we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
