Hi I'm Troy

I am a native Californian. I'm a 4th grade schoolteacher. I love to write and travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in California all my life. I love the Bay Area of California for the diversity of people and tastes. Education is important to me which led me to become a teacher. I love teaching kids and seeing their knowledge increase about the world around them. I am a husband and father to 3 children, a son and two daughters. I enjoy traveling anywhere in the world and tasting different foods. Writing and reading are important to me and I would love to write books someday soon. I also enjoy the outdoors and seeing what the Lord has created for us--it is truly a beautiful part of my life. Life is grand and needs to be enjoyed to its fullest.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the wonderful opportunity of growing up in the church in a family that was dedicated to its teachings and precepts. It helped me build a solid foundation of gospel principles, that to this day I am proud to follow and be part of. I have found peace, comfort, and strength in the gospel and as a member of the Lord's church. Service is important to me and there are many opportunities to serve in the church, community, and my family. I love the church and the gospel and love sharing it with others. I have found deep comfort, peace, and love being a member of the church. I know that if we follow the gospel principles to the best of our abilities, then we can and will be truly happy. Answers to questions and problems are made available to us through the influence of the Holy Ghost. What a special gift that is to have in your life! I know that you too can have these same experiences if you want them in your life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day by being serviceable and willing to share and talk about the gospel with anyone I come in contact with. There are many opportunities to talk to people and share my beliefs in my community. My family members are on sports teams--swimming, soccer, and water polo--where we get to talk to friends about the gospel, especially the Sabbath day and that we do not do any sports on that day. This leads to a conversation about why and so we get to explain the sabbath day and the importance of keeping it holy. I also get the chance to work with the full time missionaries in my calling that I have in the church. I get to oversee the missionary work in three different congregations and help the leaders out in these congregations to make sure the work runs smoothly and efficiently. I love these opportunities to serve and it makes me very happy!
