Hi I'm Sue Burton Cook

My name is Sue Cook and I grew up in Syracuse, Utah. I love to play with my grand-kids and run, and I'm a Mormon!!

About Me

I am from a small town in Utah named Syracuse. I like it so much that when my parents decided to move from the home I grew up in, I decided I wanted to raise my family in that same home and area. We have been here for almost 13 years now. I don't like the fact that it's a bigger city now but it's still filled with great people. I married my high school sweetheart and we have been together now for over 25 years. I have 3 daughters, two of which are happily married. I have two beautiful granddaughters and they are the light of my life, I can't get enough of them. If I'm having a bad day they will definitely make my day brighter. I love being a grandma. I never thought I would say that. My youngest daughter is almost 16 and she is my best friend. She was diagnosed with Bone cancer in Feb. 2011 and after a grueling year of chemo treatments is now Cancer Free!!! I grew up in a big family of 6 girls and 1 boy. I give a lot of credit of who I am today to my parents, everything I have learned has come from their example. I love to run, scrapbook, sew, cook and just spend time with my family. I can't remember a time in my life when I was so happy. I currently serve the young women in our ward and love every minute of it. I have enjoyed serving in our church and really can't picture my life without something I could do to further the work of the gospel in the lives of those who share that same conviction.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I grew up in a family that taught me about the gospel at a very young age. However as I grew into my teenager years, I wanted to know for myself if everything I had been taught indeed was true. When I was 15 years old I started to attend what we call in our church, seminary. It was a daily study of the gospel we believe. It is at that time in my life when I needed to know for myself if it was true. Through prayer and study I discovered that, what this church teaches and the values it instills in it's member is what I wanted to be part of and what I wanted for my family. I have never regretted the decision I made to commit my life to a church that I love with all my heart. I find great joy in living and serving in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith trying daily to be a good person and to be a good example. I try to live my life as my Savior Jesus Christ lived his. Although it's not always easy. Life gets busy and I sometimes fall short of the things that should come second nature. I try to do all I can to be a good person and treat others as I would want to be treated. I have been so blessed in my life because of the gospel and feel a great amount of debt to my Savior for the things he has blessed me with in my life. It isn't always easy but it sure pays great dividends!!!
