Hi I'm Heather

I'm an Air Force brat. I'm a BYU-I student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the church and it has been such a blessing throughout my life. My dad was in the Air Force so I was born across the ocean in Germany and have lived on both coasts of the United States. In high school I participated in model United Nations and it was really difficult to get used to public speaking but it became my passion. I'm preparing to attend Brigham Young University in Idaho and currently work retail. I am so grateful for this church and the Gospel in my life and I know it has helped shape me into the person I am now.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church so I really don't know what my life would like without it in my life. I'll be the first to admit I'm nowhere near perfect so I'm truly glad for the atonement in my life. The atonement is such a blessing to me because it shows that we don't need to be perfect. We can mess up and it's okay because we can erase the guilt of our mistakes. I also really love the programs we have in the church. Like Personal Progress. Personal Progress is a program for the young women in the church and is to help us improve ourselves and prepare us for our future duties. Everything we learn in the church is for our good, for our benefit. I have a testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ and in His prophets on the earth. I believe Joseph Smith truly saw our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I believe in the words of President Thomas S. Monson and know his words are for our good and are to help us return to our home in heaven.

How I live my faith

In our church I would be put in the youth category. A group of young people ages 12 through 18. In this group there are subgroups. Of these subgroups I am in the Laurel class, a group of girls ages 16-18. I am currently serving as the second counselor of this group and I couldn't be more blessed. I love working with these girls and helping them grow into beautiful women. In my calling I try my best to help my girls feel like they are welcome and that it's okay to come to church if they haven't been coming often. Our goal as a presidency is not to be pushy or forceful. Our goal is help each girl in our class feel welcome, feel loved, and come to the knowledge that every single one of them are a beautiful daughter of God with divine potential. These girls have taught me so much and I can't believe I have the opportunity to be with them.
