Hi I'm Jacob

I moved to South Carolina from Idaho in 2005. I am an Eagle Scout. I love my family, faith, and Chick-fil-a. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am serving a 2-year mission in the Nicaragua, Managua North area. I have been accepted and plan to attend Brigham Young University after my mission. I do not know exactly what I am going to study, but Food Science interests me. I used to have a job at Chick-fil-a in South Carolina that I LOVED. I enjoy reading novels and books, especially The Book of Mormon. I love lots of music, especially instrumental, and I play the piano. I love to play Ultimate Frisbee with friends and spend time with my family outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS Church, but I do have a strong testimony of its truth that I have learned for myself. I have read The Book of Mormon and recieved a confirmation of its validity. I know that it is true. I find great joy and peace in following the commandments that the Lord has given us. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God, and that he is God's mouthpiece to us and that he tells us His revealed will. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that he helped restore the Priesthood and establish the only true church upon the face of the Earth. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ both have physical bodies and are separate beings. I know that they love me. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for my sins, and that through his atonement I can be forgiven for my sins and shortcomings. I know that I can return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ if I can make and keep all the covenants necessary and receive sacred ordinances. I know that I can communicate with Heavenly Father through prayer. I know that the Word of Wisdom is beneficial to those who keep it. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on the earth today. I know that the Bible is true when it is translated correctly. I know that the Doctrine and Covenants of the Church is a compilation of revelations given to latter-day prophets, and that it is true. I know that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father in the Celestial Kingdom with my family, and that we can be together forever if we are all faithful. I am blessed to know of all these things, and I know they are true because the Holy Ghost has manifested unto me that they are truth. This knowledge can belong to all who are willing to earnestly and sincerely seek for it. My testimony helps me live the Gospel and to keep God's commandments. I am grateful for this knowledge that has been revealed to me through the power of God.

How I live my faith

I am a currently serving a two-year mission for my church in the Nicaragua, Managua North area. I hold the Melchizedek Priesthood. I have the authority to prepare, bless, and administer the sacred emblems of the sacrament, as well as the laying on of hands. I greatly enjoy serving other people. I have a strong testimony of being obedient. I know that as I obey the commandments of my faith and follow the guide lines set forth by President Thomas S. Monson and the other apostles my life will be blessed.
