Hi I'm Jacob Khalil

I'm a brother, a son, a performer and musician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a little suburb of Houston, Texas USA called Sugar Land. Most of my friends I've basically had my whole life. I have three brothers and three sisters who drove me nuts for the first half of my life, but have become some of my best friends. In high school I was active in Theatre, Football, Choir, Track, Boy Scouts, and chilling with my friends. I'm studying Vocal Performance at Brigham Young University and I have eventual plans of moving to New York to be in musicals on and off Broadway. I'm currently serving a 2 year mission for my church in Colorado Springs, Colorado USA.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my mom was "mostly" Mormon. She taught all of us good values and a few other principles about the faith, but we never really went to church. By the time I was 13, no one in my family attended church or hardly even spoke of it. I found myself making some pretty bad choices and I was consequentially unhappy. It was that point that I began going to Mormon youth events and regular church meetings. As I put away the things of my old life and began walking with Christ, I was so much happier. I found such a greater strength in this gospel and I still find it to this day, every day. It's more than just making the "right" choices, it's following in Jesus Christ's footsteps. My testimony of Jesus Christ guides me in everything I do and I attribute everything I have done and will do to Him and His gospel.

How I live my faith

First and foremost, I strongly believe that I should try to live as Jesus Christ did. By that I mean: People are the most important thing. Any chance I get to follow in Jesus Christ's example by making someone feel joy, I feel like I'm living my life alright. That being said, I try to direct all the blessings I've received and talents God has given me to bless the lives of others and to proclaim His love. Everything is for his glory -- not mine. I'm Currently serving a full-time mission for 2 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado USA. I am engaged in the greatest work among mankind. I get bring souls closer to their saviour, Jesus Christ, every day. There's no better way to live the faith.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jacob Khalil
First and foremost, missionaries are NOT THERE TO PUSH YOU. It is true, we share an important, life-changing message. But it is vital for one to search things out personally, and pray to know if the message is true. Missionaries will tell you what is in the Book of Mormon and how it testifies of Christ. They will also tell you how to have a better life by helping you embrace the complete gospel of Jesus Christ, found within the Church of Jesus Christ of Letter-Day Saints. Show more Show less
