Hi I'm Mary

I love learning about people, places, and things and living life to the fullest each day. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy being with loved ones, being outdoors, and learning about people. I love traveling, languages and understanding cultures. I enjoy spending time with my husband/best friend. Whether we are fly fishing in a beautiful mountain stream, or reading together on the couch, he is an amazing companion. I am a mother-to-be and am excited for the journey of motherhood. I have a BA in International Studies, and minor in Mandarin Chinese, as well as a MSW (Master of Social Work) degree. I am currently blessed to work in hospice, where the eternal perspective of Heavenly Father's plan brings great peace in difficult circumstances.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because of the peace I feel in living the principles of Jesus Christ's restored gospel. I believe Christ is my Savior, and that He performed the ultimate sacrifice in carrying out the atonement, so that I would have the opportunity to learn and progress according to our loving Father in Heaven's plan. So despite my mistakes, I can repent and keep trying. I know our Father in Heaven is aware of each of His children, and His goal and desire is for our growth and happiness. For this purpose He has once again restored the fulness of Christ's gospel on the earth through prophets and His priesthood power. Living prophets, along with the Bible and Book of Mormon, and restored principles help me more fully understand Christ's life, God's plan and His purposes, and love. I know this peace and happiness only come from God's eternal truths.

How I live my faith

I currently serve with the children in our congregation, in the primary organization. I serve by preparing lessons for children ages 3-11, training and supporting other teachers and leaders, and helping the children to develop an understanding of Jesus Christ's mission and God's love for them. I also enjoy participating in other events such as girl's camp, for young women ages 12-18; and activities with other women to develop talents and knowledge. I learn so much from those that I serve with, and am grateful for the strength that comes from God to make that service possible.
