Hi I'm Breanne

I'm a college student. I'm a future elementary school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey, I am a college student studying to become an elementary school teacher. I am the second oldest of four siblings; I have three brothers. I love to be outdoors riding my bike, walking my dog, hiking, swimming, and enjoying the snow. This past winter I learned how to snowboard. I enjoy music, both listening to it and playing it. I play the piano and the trombone. I also like to read and to draw.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was and is active in the church. From early on my parents and church leaders have taught me about the doctrine of the church. This has helped me to develop my testimony of the church and also to strengthen it. All through my childhood and now in the present I have been taught that I should pray to know the truth of the church principles the scriptures, church leaders, and others teach me. No one forced me to join the church. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have come to know of the truth of it for myself through study, prayer, and acting in faith. I am not a member because it erases all hardships…everyone has trials. However, having the gospel in my life brings me so much peace. Being a member of the church has taught me that there is a purpose to life and that I can overcome all challenges if I put my faith in Christ. My testimony of the gospel is priceless to me. I know that this church is the Church of Jesus Christ restored on Earth today…and is the same as the church Christ established when He was on the Earth. It is how my testimony makes me feel inside that has helped me decide to go on a year and a half mission for the church. It brings me so much joy to share the gospel with others.

How I live my faith

The Savior is our perfect example. I live my faith by striving each and every day to become more like Christ, both in my actions and my thoughts. One way that helps me strive to be better each day is by serving others. In the church we are taught to serve others, just like Christ serves us. In the church we are given callings, or responsibilities. Through them we can serve others and grow to be more like Christ. I have had many opportunities to learn and to grow through church callings. My most recent calling was to be a substitute teacher for classes of children 12 and younger. This brought me a lot of joy because I got to help children develop their testimonies of the gospel. I got to teach them about the Savior, and how they can be more like Him. By teaching them, it has also helped me in return.
