Hi I'm Jacob Morris

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Jacob. I am from Amarillo, Texas, a true texan all the way through. I'm 6"5 and as a result I love playing baskteball and played all the way through high School. I attended a year of college at Texas Tech and I am serving a full-time 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints in Las Vegas.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout my entire youth I did everything that was right. I went to church, I read the scriptures, I did what I was told. But not until I got out and living my life at college that I discovered who I really am and what my religon has done for me. I stopped attending church because I wanted to be out on my own but I just didn't feel the same. I was missing the spirit and it was really hard to live without it. You know what they say, you don't know what you have until it's gone.I returned to church and the peace and love I felt totally convinced me that this is what God would have me do with my life. It was in college that I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. I knelt down and prayed to our Heavenly Father if it was true. I went to bed and then was pondering about what I had read and prayed about. I felt a great warmth in my chest, and I thought it was just the covers of my bed. I then realized I was feeling the spirit for the first time and it made me smile and tear up a little. It was the first time I really felt God's love and what he wanted for me. I know that this religion is inspired of God because he has told me personally through my thoughts and feelings. All answers to prayers are possible if one prays with faith. I prayed to know if I should give 2 years of my life in service to him, and yeah! He gave me a confirmation and an answer. I would not be serving if I didn't know that God loves me and wants this for me.

How I live my faith

I'm serving the church for 2 years, helping build the unity and finding those prepared for the gospel. I help others come closer to Christ through the restored gospel. I am giving 2 years of my life to something that I know is true. More importantly, I am living my religion by example. I can testify that this is the church of God because I am living it.
